I'm having a hard time with his dash in air, it's great that he can choose any direction, it's odd the way you have to put the command, like up+down, or up+forward really fast, maybe using an arcade stick would be easier, in controllers is hard to do, and without doing those little dash maybe you are missing some nice tools to attack...the online play is nice, my bro is playing right now and I haven't noticed lag
I play pad and I have no difficulty with it, just grind it out. input 886 for a standard air dash, I recommend doing j.5K j.5S to start air offense.
It was playable before, now it's a fair bit worse but Arcsys know and are working on a new patch. It's not atrocious IMO but it's below average, about on par with old versions of SF4 IMO.
I don't know, it's been glitching for everyone way too often, today it glitched super bad on Brett's tournament a couple of times, some of my games have frozen for no reason at all and I couldn't even go back to the lobby or main menu.I've had to deal with some weird hiccups too, I should really stop trying to play Chipp online, jump installing with lag is so bad.
I think for any other game it would be acceptable delay wise, but for GG it's pretty bad. The hiccups and freezes don't happen to me often personally. I've heard that cross play causes disrepency where the PS4 player gets 2-4f delay and the PS3 player gets like 12.
OMG, so that's the reason.A friend was playing with Millia yesterday and was pulling all kind of hard stuff and I was having 12 frames of lag. Now I understand it; he was playing on PS4...
I've read that the delay is the same, it's just that the counter is locked at 12 due to some glitch, we should be getting the patch soon so that should fix some stuff.
my brother was playing online yesterday (ps4) while I was on the Laptop and my girlfriend on the celphone, and he didn't had lag while I was thhere... I wasn't browsing videos or anything like that, just MFG and FB... I did ask him about it right now, my bro says he had lag in a few fights, but the lag was present with the same guys, maybe it's the lag present in the cross platform fights (?)EDIT: on a side note, I just saw in the upper screen a text that says "Delay SF" or something like that... it appears something when you are playing?EDIT 2" it wasn't an S, was a 5... right now playing against a Potemkin and it's set to 6 and 7F (frames I guess) and it does have a few lag moments

I should get mine next Monday, yay!
Average Sol netplay?Anyways the netcode got patched... but only for US copies. And because of this, people with a Japanese copy show as 4 bars since they don't have the patch yet, I can't really tell if this feels smoother...
This is me being silly. I tried netplay using crossplay and there is a lot of weird stuff. Like not being able to find a public room from another system, not even by id. Or the so-called lag discrepancy. PS3 showed 2 frames, PS4 showed 1. (this was done using different PSN accounts). Also, I tried to play myself to see if by doing so some kind of paradox was created and the world ended. I can see myself twice in the lobby, but obviously I can't enter a room where I already am playing. I get a "Host not responding" message. Damn ARC, you guys are smart.
Is this is a JP copy vs an US copy?If so the fact that the US version already got the netplay patch might have something to do with that, if not then I don't know, I can't say I'm having a spectacular time with the netcode either.
S.D. said, December 25, 2014, 11:52:28 pmIs this is a JP copy vs an US copy?Yes, PS3 is JP and PS4 is US.What bothers me the most is the friend invite "bug"... so they release a huge patch but they don't address this problem? That sucks.
Again, take into account that you're literally playing different versions of the game, one US with the latest patch and a JP one that wasn't patched.Anyways JP now has 1.03 instead of the latest US version (1.02) so I think we still have the same issue...

That sucks.as dio said, they mighta s well be different games, jsut ocnsider how big of a desynch one frame can cause, now rememebr that even small version changes have different values for the character's parameters, so it's no wonder they can't play against themselves at all ( do in a way it's an effective region lock, lol).
The disparity between versions can be blamed on the PSN downtime and Aksys pushing for a release of the patch in NA (Since they published it here)And yeah, you're playing different versions+regions AND trying crossplay so it's obvious that you won't find your other account, you'll have more luck when both copies are in the same version (1.03, hopefully)For the curious this is that the JP patch 1.03 implemented:-Increased stability in all netplay matches-Optimized delay in netplay matches-Added ability to reset R-Code on PS4-Fixed an issue where with Bedman certain colors will show up as different colors.-Fixed issues with misprints and omitted characters/wordsAnd the supposed stealth nerf to Elph.
