want to show some first work on him...i am using kgenjuro hanzo.....
well this hanzo is a mess in palette terms...here is the whole colour set...



unused colours turned of ;just leaving what the sprite/image uses.....


this sprite is not finished yet...just wanted to show some of it and show the direction of the retouchs....no stretching or enlargement aplied not needed
it will remain as the same proportions as the original....

I would love so much to sprite as fast as you in CVS style!

Any chance you capture 4 or 5 steps of one sprite in your CVS conversion?
I would love to see how you do it exactly...

Wow this is simply awesome!

Out of curiosity, I was wondering whether Hanzo by Pinko would also be a good base?

110 sprites left to do....maybe i'll edit also galford since must of the sprites are basically the same.....a head swap and some lil edition here and there.....but real life job begin's next week....

You should separate the slash effects from the body sprites if you haven't done so. It allows for proper transparency on the slash fx.

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

as you can see in the first image(if you look closely) the cloths are unatached from sword and also efects are unatached
there will be as usual an sff and sprite set apart.....worked a lil today morning and 100 sprites are left to do...maybe in two weeks this will be ready

Um, I think what Alpa is saying is like how Strider's sword slash FX are. None of them are attached to his attack sprites themselves. Which allows one to code the slash FX as either helpers or explods. Allowing proper transparency application to said slash FX. The color scheme on which the slash FX are on for Hanzo are seperate from any of his body colors, yes. Which is more of a CS thing. But the slash FX themselves are attached to the sprites still. Which means, you can't make them transparent. Or hires them for that matter... :-\

This looks fantastic. I wish this was for pinko's Hanzou. Thats the one i have and he has his SS groove bar.
