Have you ever mysteriously lost your CMD files?

Hi I'm new to posting topics so forgive me if this is in the wrong place or whatever but I really need help! Recently I tried playing my Mugen after a long time of not even touching it (maybe a month or so) and when I tried playing it I found that most of the characters didn't work. A message came up saying that the CMD files were missing. Before that tried playing it on the Mugen 1.0 build and when I thought the reason they didn't work was because the characters may have been outdated or unsupported I switched back into the old 2004 version and still no dice.

Please! If you can offer any help it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

This might be better in MUGEN Help.

Actually yes I lost some CMD files many years ago seemingly at random(it wasn't all of them either, I do recall Dizzy's Vegeta losing the CMD as well as a few other characters I was able to conveniently re-download). No idea how or why. Possibly some fun due to the fact .CMD is an extension used by things other than MUGEN in Windows. Maybe a virus scanner was like "Lol, delete suspicious Mugen files."

I honestly can't say how or why that happened to you, but it is something that has happened before.

Can you clarify that it didn't happen to all characters? Have you ever opened or edited the .CMD files for the characters who lost them before?

Actually it wasn't all my characters and my virus scanner did pick up a virus recently and delete it. I have no idea why it would have deleted my CMD files too though. That has never happened before.

Yeah I recently figured that out. It's a good thing I was able to delete the virus before it affected all of my mugen CMD's. Now I have already replaced half the characters but still have some way to go. Thanks!
