Health bar on top of super backgrounds?

So I've made a custom super background that plays while I do a super move.

The problem is, the lifebar always ends up disappearing behind it while it's playing.

Is there any way I can prevent this from happening? I'd like the lifebar to show throughout the entire move.
A magical force-field surrounding a brick in an iron vault...even if the security is breached, the thieves are bound to be disappointed.

Mess with your sprpriority. Getting your bg to sprpriority -2 should do it. You can set this for explods AND helpers.

I've set the helper that summons the explod AND the explod to -2 and yet I still can't see those life bars.


I've tried -9999 and even that didn't make a difference, lol.

But it is actually possible in Mugen, right? None of the characters whom I own have a super background that shows the lifebar except for John Talbain, and his only happens because of transparency.

some people turn them off via nobardisplay in an assertspecial.

I wonder if it's a layer thing. It's possible SOME lifebars will show over the top. Mine, don't.

I Couldn't get it ontop before, even when i put sprpriority -99999999999
so i just made my hyper bg transparent.
I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

yeah some stages did it to me too when i used no bar display, i guess it depends on screen pack and/or stage, i think the stage can have more priority than the character sprites.

Its a screenpack thing. brokenMUGEN would have the lifebars showing even if the NoBarDisplay is set and coded in correctely. With screenpacks such as that and other you need to make invisible helpers for this to work how you want to. Check out my characters and their lvl 3 super moves to see how to get the lifebars not show even with screenpacks like that.

Lifebars coded as helpers an explods would never disappear when nobardisplay was asserted.

If your set of bars are "Normally" coded withing the fight.def, then there is no way to avoid it if nobardisplay was asserted in a character.

Set the layerno in the lifebar elements into 2. that will show the bar in front of all characters, take in mind that any explod or helper is created by a character, so the sprpriority is independant of layer no...
