I know how to do it in The Gimp, and Photoshop, but not Paint Shop Pro. I know why it's happening though; When you set that one (green) colour to be the transparent one in Mugen, it will only make that exact colour transparent. So, your character had anti-aliasing (opaque) pixels around him when you up him out (or whatever). Then you put a green background (layer) behind him, the semi-transparent pixels mixed with the green, to create other, slightly different shades of green, which Mugen does not make transparent.

1. Without going into exact details, one way to fix it, would be to turn off anti-aliasing when you cut your character out. It is a problem I had recently, and took for me ages to solve.

2. Another way to do it, would be to take the source image that you have which doesnt have the green background. I assume this image is just the character, and then a transparent layer underneath. Then duplicate the character layer, and change the entire character to a colour like black. It will look like a silouette, then stick it behind the original layer, it will fit perfectly behind your character. This will "solidify" the semi-transparent pixels, then flatten the layers. Your character may have a darker outline, but after you but the green background on, at least it won't mix.

3. Or leave it as it is, and tell everyone that it is original Godzillas ora glowing from within.

What does the shift do? I dare not try it, it may be some kind of evil trap, which will cause death upon me.

How dare you call me the n word. I am a very proud african american. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Also, when you go to save the image in flash, there should be a box that says "smooth". Click it so that the box is empty.

MoneyGman, you're so full of energy. Have you managed to fix it yet? As mentioned before, I'm not too familiar with Paint Shop Pro, but I had a quick look at it, it seems that perhaps the tutorial below would help. There are many ways to do this, this is one. You said you drew it then scanned it in, so I'm assuming you had to cut out the background. I don't know anything about Flash, but if you cut your character out in Paint Shop Pro, you could do it in the way that this tutorial shows. There is just one important difference, something you need to do after the first step (at 0.17secs); After selecting the 'Edge Seeker' tool, deselect the 'anti-alias' option (which will probably be to the right of it), it will probably be a ticket box, make sure it is unticked. Then proceed to cut out the image. Anti-alias "smooths" edges, this is usually desirable when working with images such as photos, but we want the opposite. Anti-alias adds semi-transparent pixels to the edge of an image, so that it would blend with the background, usually people would want this, because they wouldn't want the image to stick out, and look like it doesn't fit with the new background.

Do you mean you made the transparent background the colour black? That only works if your character never has that same black within him, if he ever does, those black parts will be transparent. That's why the backgrounds are an ugly pink or green, because those a rarely used in the image. Unless I am mistaking what you meant.
