I'm wonderig, what is much more laggy?
20 of EXPLODS or 20 of HELPERS?

Probably helpers, but lag disappears depending on how you share your palettes.

Helpers use more memory, if your PC isn't that great, yeah helpers will bog you down.

Helpers only lag if the total number of individual palettes exceed a certain number (below 200 is usually safe and enough for everything if you share palettes properly), but then they lag a lot. It might not lag a strong computer, but better to share properly so everyone can use the character.
