Is it part of the lifebars, or part of one of the characters?
Still quite busy.

(Yes, I intend to deal with that stuff eventually, but kinda can't just yet, sorry. :/ )

So, is that a Linux-only thing?

Yeah. Linux + a hidden feature + not implemented correctly.

You need to:
1) have linux.
2) Use a stage made of one image.
3) Revert your stage's colors to negative.
4) Put it and a white box into sff.
5) Add a white box as a background and fill the screen with tile = 1,1.
6) Put the bg. It requires few settings to be in hi-res:
-) layerno = 1
-) trans = sub
That way thanks to the white bg and inverted colors it will look normal.

Only problem is that your characters will be displayed under the stage...

On the same note as the friends option on the folder... how about user defined groups as well?  Only the admins and Val (by default) can see these beyond those defined.

Advantage?: not having to send > 10 pms/emails for a simple update.

Many people risk their lives everyday by having Mugen.

Note to Ciel (and the other ones who're interested): I used that "trick" in DOS (but it wasn't done on purpose, I was testing an old stage of mine -- SVc: Red Arremer, with a "filter" with sub and add -- to see if the 320x240 filter was working correctly with resolution 640x480 and doubleres 4).

Apparently, there is a bug with the tiling of some 320x240 sprites in layerno=1 only (the same "filter", put in another layer, works correctly).

In linux it works on every sprite. It worked on a 1150x900(stage), 100x100 (the square, i wanted to use it as a color change at first), 575x450 (resized stage), 1200x152 (a layer for other stage) etc.

I found a way to have this "feature" in DOS. It works on my stages, sadly you removed the link to your stage so I can't test it but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Another thing: I have the same "bug" than in Linux: the chars are displayed under the stage.

But I'm working on a "trick" (basically: using a sprite with trans=add and the same sprite with trans=sub, in different layers so one sprite cancels the other. It's something I already tested on other stages for another purpose: to have the characters darkened but not the background; now I must find a way to affect the background and not the characters).

Impressive, I never imagined it was possible. To bad it can be considered "bug abusing" =P

But I'm working on a "trick" (basically: using a sprite with trans=add and the same sprite with trans=sub, in different layers so one sprite cancels the other. That is impossible, you would need to add the background colours to the pixels where the character is. There is no way to do that in mugen, you would need some kind of masking, you cannot know where the character is from the background. You could do the opposite because you were adding the same colour you substracted in the whole stage behind the character, not in a defined region (the character).

You should, if you have the mugen creator status (and you do, since you're posting here :P). But just in case:
