Not the real Hibachi, but Lolibachi.

Ok, having tried out the character, I can say it plays... differently.

At first I was afraid it might have been a projectile spam heavy character, and while it is heavily based on projectiles, it's still balanced for common fighter to go toe to toe with her.

Basically, all her moves requier a startup and a are done through simple inputs:

X are basic bullets and can shift between high and low depending on wether you hold up or down or forward/back, you can hold the button in to shoot more, but it costs more energy.

Y summons a striker who aids with one of several moves, but some moves costs from her Striker Bar, but it charges up slowly automatically, at Level 5, you can summon her for a Hyper Combo. She is important since she's Hibachi's only close quarter move, and therefore, important to survive against a closing in opponent.

Z summons a turret that you can use if you press Z again, but it will need to charge afterwards.

A are mostly lasers, same principle applies from X, but they are weaker but cover more ground, HOWEVER, if the opponent is upclose, then they suffer more damage.

B are all the special moves and require inputs like Down-Forward-B or Down-Back-B, one is a Beam, the other is a scattershot of bullets, if you press Down-Forward-Down-Forward-B then you use her Beam Hyper Combo (DADADADADADA) or Down-Back-Down-Back-B to summon the stinger of her giant mecha bee form to attack (Bloodia Punch basically)

C can be used when her "HYPER" Bar is full and will power her up for a short time, making all her moves Much much more powerfull.

Finally, X+A is her grab.

All in all, she stands on her own legs despite being a beta and has her own quirky gameplay that might seem confusing but it's easy to get the grasp of it, while she has good keepaway gameplay she is TERRIBLE at CQC combat and is required to use her Striker to get out of such situations, despite the idea behind her gameplay, she NEEDS some CQC moves. :S

Otherwise, the animations are TOP NOTCH, just look at the screenshot, that's the quality. O_O

Looking at her files, I can see that she will more choises of Striker characters in the future, perhaps a boss mode with infinite bars to make her boss like and probably more Win and Intro animations. But despite this, she stands on her own.

Also, she needs an AI... badly. XD

So all in all, interesting, not everyones cup of tea, and unusually balanced out for being freaking AWESOME WEAPON HIBACHI. Good Job. :)

BTW, sorry for double posting, but I just remembered, did'nt someone make a joke character out of Colonel Longhena/Longhener who is also from DoDonPachi?

Tried the update out, not too much a difference but her attacks now do a little bit of chip-damage if blocked.

I'm not having this problem at all.
Why not just use WinZip to extract it?

Most probably Winrar not supporting symbols like β, try to remove that from your zip file's name. (rename it)
The same problem can still occur if the content inside has symbols it doesn't support though.

this is not a winrar problem... must be a problem with download. maybe terminates before actually finish it entirely.

Hibachi has been updated to version 0.50.

Lots of new stuff, she now has her second assist, Hikari, avaiable for use.
Interestingly, the choise of Assist also alters Hibachi's' main gameplay, so her basic attacks now function differently, the turrets are now different (and are activated with Z nstead of Y) and her Down Forward B hyper is now different depending on the choise of Assist.

Also, now she got a new special move, a circulair bullet spread while doing a piroet.

An issue would be that she now weights down at over 70mb, but experienced little slowdown despite using a stoneage computer, so that's good.
