Trin's got a point.
It should be 100% LEGAL to do her considering you are not making a profit from her or any other mugen works.
In short: YOUR FINE. Nowadays, something like a legal notice is considered bullshitty anyways because of people abusing the said right.

actually Mediafire DOES do bullshit copyrights alot I dealt with them myself. I called them on the phone and cleared it up got my strikes removed and everything after explaining what mugen was. I can't say anything on the blogs though. Ume alot of Legal notices ARE BS when it comes to mugen. Rice got a bs one about tohou or something and actually was afraid to continue but look he is now and nothing is happening. PLUS think about how many Hisui's are out there ALOT and still being made but those people don't receive legal notices. Sennou if you do not want to continue thats up to you but I am telling you this is probably BS sorry Ume.

what about using passwords and encrypted filenames for your files? (something like $/(@qzT<168)@jqwTE3%xWQL&rVfd% for example ?) just a suggestion of course, no disrespect. it would really be a shame if you would quit  :-\

All of these character in pots style would´ve been amazing. On the other hang, you could make more characters pots style and you´ll be able to send me and I´ll upload them everyone into my server. that´s could be a solution. I don´t live in Japan

He's Japanese, at least the flag says, anyway they're are plenty of creators from Japan and most of them are still active. 9 is making mb characters for this day and had no problems with it. Maybe you became a victim of some kind of hoax.

no matter how trivial a legal notice for takedown is, they are always within rights to pursue it. which means even if its an infinitesimal chance they pursue it there is still a chance they can pursue it. it is not bullshit, people who say this are entirely ignorant and say it at their own peril. that copyright notice for downloading an album or track is only bullshit till they actually pursue it and you get fucked. there's always a chance, because this isnt just a game. its a real life request from a real life company. he's being smart and backing off. please don't spread such a toxic ignorant opinion.

the thing alot of them are not the actual company at all. The system to submit a copyright right now is so messed up anyone can do it and say they are the company in question when they obviously aren't. I am not spreading an opinion I am spreading a fact on how sites copyright systems are. Youtube, mediafire, 4shared etc. It is a FACT not opinion they do not bother to check if the person submitting a claim is the actual company or not. Sometimes they do like with the smash bros takedown videos that was obviously nintendo. Most Companys do not bother with mugen Ume. French Bread (aka the company who makes melty blood) Have not done anything to people who make MB chars if this were a common thing for them to do I would say yeah ok but it's not. Explain to me why they would target just him and not the literally hundreds other creators of Melty blood characters and Edits? Do not call what I am saying toxic as I know from experience how many times on various sites I have had "copyright claims" and it's been untrue. If it was actually the company wouldn't they go after EVERYONE using their content? Makes more sense doesn't it?
