Should try to convert Drowin's Toki too, I noticed you used Nericya's Toki. I like Drowin's Toki better.  And Nericya's Toki plays funny and his moves sometimes miss other characters.

Don't mean to spoil it. but he plans on adding Drowin's Toki
but.... he's going to be a little different :P

Hi mate, this is really good! Only thing worth asking about is if you plan on adding endings to the characters, that would make it the best of the best! Great work! ;D

Just noticed that Kenshiro character from your skydrive doesn't load in Mugen1.0 but all the other characters do..something to do with the snd file..I know its prob not relevant, but would be good if that could be fixed..thanks again for posting all the chars! ;D

good job you will edit aiba also surprisng me  :o I understand why you get headache cuz there are too many cut in sceane cut from the anime  --; that's not cool I don't know why he dont did it the same way of the original game.

ps. I dont like that he have the same stance of Toki  :-\

Well after bashing Hokuto no Ken for being a cheap Mad Max knock off for a good long while I decided to see the damn anime to see what was the all the commotion about on a bit torrent as I didn't really care for it.

After I downloaded it I watched the whole thing, enjoyed a couple of scenes with over the top gore (just the way I like it) and said what the hell I'll give this mugen game a try.




So I took the time to download this and I gotta say i was pretty impressed.


Firstly the screen pack is very nice, aside from the menu font, it is very good and well put. You explained the misalignment in your character's and the reason for having multiples of the same in there so not really bad.

I was not used to the gameplay being 4 button instead of 6 but I did enjoy the moves, especially the hit sparks, and the overall experience was pretty pleasant.

I've yet to see the anime series but as far as this game goes compared to the sega genesis (Last Battle) it is well done and it shows your hard work for only 4 months. Thanks for the port.

Odd question: Will 'Ken-oh' be implemented in any way?  I ask because you say you're modifying Drowin's Raoh. 

The clips are there in the SND, they're just not attached to anything.  It's the same with sprites-the sprites used for Raoh's death scene are there, but unused.

They will be there, as soon as i learn how to make use of them. Up till now i wasn't able to use them. I've implemented "Super Gosho Ha" (ground and aerial) on my test char and it is displayed correct as far as the animation is concerned, but those moves don't hit anything...i'm still trying to improve and make the red clsn hit the target. I've entered it in debug mode and while performing those 2 moves nothing happens: the collision and the attack clsn won't appear (that means that my char can't be touched and he can't touch anything as well).
As for the death cut scene, i'm trying to duplicate it from Rin and Bat's Raoh. For that char that cut scene is implemented for Kenshiro so far: if you do a fatal ko in the decisive round you will have the original ending, but it is extra hard since the var's and fvar's don't match between the 2 Raoh's...

Hello first of all thanks for givin' us the oppurtunity to have gathered (in a good and precise way) all HNK characters; well I've already edited amiba last year, you can download here, also only to take some data from it.

Unfortunately, it is still based on Drowin's Toki (like original Amiba by oki), and I may say that all timing moves are wrong in comparison with the original game(this not Amiba but also obviously Drowin's Toki). I can prove it because I played the original game sammy; so I would reccomend you (if possible) to export Amiba's graphics and to insert it into an Nericya's Toki (or better into Ts's Amiba-Toki realeased yesterday).

But this does not make sense. Characters even not so strong should be done good. Basing on what are you saying  then (if I understood good) Mamiya, Mr.Heart and Jagi must be done bad. If I misenderstood tell me.

A very kind japan Mugen player gave me a rare Drowin's Toki with Mohikan's AI and fixed move timings (it looks like Nericya's Toki, not the same, but still very similar)...
So I'm making this new amiba.

Feel free to send a private message anytime you want to bring something up about this topic.

Note that Negi Springfield already sent me an Amiba by oki, but i gave up editing him for a while because it is a pure mess. His animations repeat themselves 2-3 times, he has 3 [statedef -2], 3 [statedef -3] when he should only have one of each and he has 2 distinct Amiba.cns files which should be the same but if you only make a change in 1 of the 2 files, it won't take effect.
I'll put some more effort into him after the World Cup, but at this point he is a major pain in the *** to edit. By that time i hope to finish Kenshiro, Shin and Thouther (they only need the aura guard implemented) and probably re-release it with complete chars. And maybe Shuh will have his rest of the sprites completed: he is at 61% now and looks very good.

Mamiya and Heart already do play like crap.

Jagi is decent though.

If Yu-Toharu finishes her and adds her missing super attack: the multi-yoyo bound, you can rape any char in the game with her. That super enables you to do even SAI combos. :D
As she is now you can defeat Rei's AI (the one updated by rei on 1st June) with a little attention and luck. I think she is a pretty decent char.

After being away for a while and did little if anything thanks to the World Cup, i've managed to put this together a lot harder then i thought i would. But here is what i like to call v2 of HNK Shinpan No Sososei Kengo Retsugen for M.U.G.E.N. now with a new screenpack, courtesy of mister Xzest

Since my previous update, i've managed to edit the chars interaction, as a result now every char has it's special intro or special win with other chars (*.snd file and animation), fatal ko recognition (except Rei vs Juda; Juda misses the sprites and the sounds for that cutscene with Rei). I've added two versions of Raoh: drowin's Raoh edited by me and SAIKEI's Raoh (drowin's Raoh edited by Ataru), which has a super skilled AI (it will go SAI on you, given the opportunity).

Kenshiro:
**Changed his animation for special intro's to match the original poses
**Added Super KO background for Zankai Ken win
**Changed his Fatal KO animation state
**Made him give designated speeches after Fatal KO wins with: Shin, Rei, Jagi, Souther, Toki and Raoh (just like the Arcade/PS2 version)
**Repositioned the text "Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken" above the boost bars

Raoh by Ataru:
**Added SAIKEI's AI patch
**Changed his super BG and super KO BG with ones that won't overlap the lifebar.
**Added Fatal KO sign and sound
**Added his win speech against Toki and Kenshiro
**Mister SAIKEI was kind enough to create all of Raoh's original palettes and include them into the AI patch (i've spent nearly an hour on his home page trying to get that AI patch, lol, but it was worth it); drowin only made his default palette and a few random ones.

**Made his fatal ko sign and sound appear a little better

Mamiya

**I've changed his boost bar position, Shiva's icon position and vital star gauge's position (available only on my skydrive, i've remember to change it after i've packed the whole game folder)
**He is only around 65% done, so some of his sprites are missing, but i can tell he plays like a normal HnK char and i have high expectations for this char

Amiba by Ts
**I couldn't edit Oki's Amiba and eventually gave up on him
**Added to the roster Ts's Amiba
**He has weak AI, but it is well done, considering the sprites+hitsparks and character interaction department
