Home Threads Child Board?

Ok this may be a ridiculous idea, but what about a Home Threads child board somewhere.  Basically anybody with a contributor star could set up a Home Thread for themselves on this board to post/link all their creations etc, kinda like I did over in the edits and add-ons sections, (keeping all of it in the first post or two, or three, and letting discourse etc go from there).  It could serve to centralize and showcase their contributions, and give people easy access to public discussion with them regarding potential projects and the like.  It would also make finding characters by the favorite creators of casual browsers very easy, and might even provide a small incentive for some people to create a little more?  Also seems like it would lend a bit more persona to some of the creators, as well as helping keep some of the incredible releases available in the forefront, rather than buried on page 7 of the releases section.  Anyway, just a thought, figured I'd throw it out there and see what happens.

EDIT: Not to encourage running all their wips and releases on their home threads or anything, just as kind of a base to have all their finished material, and maybe links to their wip threads etc.

You can already do that, and you already have.  I don't see the problem.

Right, but I was thinking a child board somewhere on the forum where all contributors could do something similar to sort of centralize their works if they wanted to.  Easy access and what not, creations not slipping though the cracks etc...

That doesn't sound too farfetched. It could serve the purpose of being like a Homepage for those who can't code one for shit, or don't have available server space or tools elsewhere, and they could just post their mediafire / 4shared links with their downloads.

Kinda like what Diepod is doing with his graphics, but with creations. Not really a bad idea.

It'd actually be better as a profile page I think. But that'd require some Valodim magic.

Dude, exactly.  Right now that's just how I view my thread over in edits and add-on's.  It's like my own little home page away from home page.

Here's a link to that actually it makes pretty good example.

it's one of these cases where redundancy is good.

Oh, no I don't think it would make that obsolete.  Home Threads wouldn't be so much for feedback or anything, just to sort of showcase and discuss.  A creator would still want to run regular wip and release threads for feedback, focused development, idea bouncing etc.  At least that's how I would envision it working.

And plus, yeah like [E] said, any redundancy in this case probably would be good, because yeah peeps would probably end up throwing a little feedback on a home thread here and there anyway.  Might seem a bit more welcome than posting what could be valuable feedback on a year old release thread or something.

Bumpin this thread because Just No Point pointed out that this would require some Valodim magic!  Now that the magician is back from hiatus, I figured I'd run it up the flagpole and see if it flies....   ;D

That would be if it was in your profile. A thread or forum locked to contributer replies with a single "thread of links" can be done by Iced or Caddie as well.

And i say locked to contributor replies to keep organisation. You should all know the purpose of said thread and won't have a discussion or spend your time giving feedback to creators about old shit.
