Hey I wanna make like a beat'em up game for gf for her bday in January...How do would you start off doing that.I completely don't know where to start please help.... ???

Well, it's technically possible to make a beat'em all for Mugen, to some point, a bit like Bane84's games. However, learning how to code this type of thing takes a lot of time and dedication, and I don't think it's really feasible in a few months, unless you spend all your time learning how to code.Rather look towards "Beats of Rage". It allows to create your stuff, like Mugen, but is oriented towards beat'em all creation.
I think that he refers to all things, whether it be sidescrollers or fighting games, Beat em ups.Simple.Get all of Warusaki3's characters.That will satisfy enough.Oh, and get all of 9's MBAA characters, POTS characters with Rare Akuma, Muteki's GG characters, and get the EVE screenpack.That will definitely satisfy, even with a hilariously unbalanced roster.

you could make a Beat 'em Up with Game Maker.It ain't the best program but it's great for people without coding experience.And if you're going to want to make it 100% custom and on your own, and you still have to learn how to do stuff, you're not gonna be done by January 2012.
