I reason why I want to do this is because there are chars in my roster that have HC motions that dont work. This pisses me off. However I dont want to screw up a char.

So you'r asking how to change a command in the .cmd?
Very simple task, once you'r in the .CMD, go to the "move" you'r looking for and change its command.

For example, say a character has this command "command = ~D, DF, F, x" and simply want to just press Down and "a". Then you would change it to "command = D,a"  8)

If that doesn't work, you can also go down to the "Statedef -1" and simply find the "move" and change its command from there.

You don't need FFU to edit the command file.

You can just edit the command file with a text editor like note pad.

Well I cant open the cmd file with notepad because of command prompt. If I open it, it doesnt show the cmd. I cant change the app to. I want to change the application of the cmd, but I dont know how.
Open notepad.
Press CTRL+O
Change the file type into "All files" and start browsing inside your character folder.

If you want to change application from txt into cmd -
Just change the extension from .txt into .cmd

Renamed the file and make sure in your [folder option], "Hide extension for know files type" untick/unmark.

Or you can just download notepad++. Google it.

Just open up notepad,

Click "Open"

Check all files instead of .txt files (so you can find your command file.)

find you .cmd file and open it.

--------------------------------------------

Another alternative way is that you could drag your command file into the textpad icon.
Depending on your windows version, it should open up immediatly, otherwise, right click the notepad bar at the bottom of your screen and select your file in the "pinned" section.

Just click the save button and it should save with out a problem.

If you click "save as", make sure it has the correct extention (.cmd) instead of the usuall .txt

If you are that paranoid about breaking your character, just make back up files before doing it.

Just try it. It works. Use notepad to edit the cmd and that's it. Make a backup copy if you're not sure of what you're doing. That's always recommended when you modify something and you're not sure if you're doing it right or wrong.
