Aside from FF3, what other programs have resizing with Nearest Neighbor?

Are you sure? I cannot find that in GiMP or in IrfanView, and if I remember correctly, then both fall under the category of the most common image editing programs (well, at least for free)...

When you scale the image/s the interpolation must be "None" for Gimp.
Thanks, gonna try it out today.
Okay, tried it out.
At first, it looked good, but when I tried to color-seperate the sprite, I notied a lot of anti-aliasing inbetween the shades and between the colors and the outline...

Optimize the palette to force certain colors to remain and it will adjust everything to the colors that you want.

Seems to be.
Thankfully, the outline anti-aliasing can be easily removed with the correct programs.
However, I do have problems with the sprites having anti-aliasing between the shades when scaling them down.
BTW, could someone please help me there with that problem? Thanks in advance!

Index the sprite/s (I chose Indexed, then 32 colours, but you can choose any number, and Interpolation = None) and then scale (I scaled it to 25%):

there still is some antialiasing, but you can edit the sprites.

I used Gimp.

Well, I have tried it out, although I had to use 64 colours instead of 32, so the sprite doesn't look bad, and yep, still too much anti-aliasing.
Could someone please tell me how I can resize sprites with zero antialiasing? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, but I still get too much antialiasing, especially on the most trouble places (shades near the outline). I'm not even resizing the sprite to 25% of the original size, but only 50% of the original size.

choose 5 or less tones per colour of the character, make your palette like that, apply ti to the character before resizing, if it looks good, resize.

Graphics Gale doesn't cost money, I mean you can pay for it but you can always choose the free version.

How can you do it with GFX Gale, [E]?

you can just copy and paste colours using it, so you do the typical stuff of creating a new palette in an image while copying colours from the actual sprite, then apply the palette. teh copy /paste palete entries commands are hiding behind keyboard shortcuts, so you have to go to the program's preferences to configure them

Replacing colours with trasparency is like deleting colours.

Think about this:
when you use the rubber in Gimp (and you added the alpha channel), you're erasing colours, with the trasparent colour; in other words you're replacing the colours with trasparency.

Okay, I tried out my method, and it worked.
Too bad that I actually already did some great mistakes before, wich caused the sprite to have too much black, resulting in an kinda-but-not-really-MvC3 feeling.
Also, with my problem basically being solved, do you still want me to post the screencaps?

Also, before I post, I just want to reiterate that it only started to look worse, when I have resized the sprite after indexing the sprite with the color count of 64.

Okay, just recently, I have found out that someone released an early alpha of Filia, and I looked into the SFF, just to see that the creator did NOT resized the sprites.
So I guess I will also do the same and will do the resizing through Localcoord. That way, there are actually lots of advantages going on here.
I just go and solve this thread then.

Wish I would have seen this earlier. Which character are you trying to resize?

Indexing your colors can get tricky because you want to choose which colors to keep and which ones to get ride of. It will look bad if you just leave it up to a program to limit the colors.

Well, I originally wanted to do one of my favorite characters I could theoretically code right away (Peacock, Big Band and Squigly, because Fortune and her head system will give me headaches), but because of optional animation standards, I'm forced to do Cerebella first (ugh, a grappler, I'm not feeling very comfortable with them and their 360 degree inputs). But like I said, I don't need to resize them anymore. I just try to index the sprites now without the resizing, so Localcoord could then later do the needed job.
