I'm sorry, but I don't have gfx gale, and I don't want to get image editing programs, that actually cost money...

Graphics Gale doesn't cost money, I mean you can pay for it but you can always choose the free version.

How can you do it with GFX Gale, [E]?

you can just copy and paste colours using it, so you do the typical stuff of creating a new palette in an image while copying colours from the actual sprite, then apply the palette. teh copy /paste palete entries commands are hiding behind keyboard shortcuts, so you have to go to the program's preferences to configure them

Wait, I have understood the copying and pasteing of colours, but how do I remove colours from a colour table?

Yeah, but that's not removing them, but just replacing them...

Replacing colours with trasparency is like deleting colours.

Think about this:
when you use the rubber in Gimp (and you added the alpha channel), you're erasing colours, with the trasparent colour; in other words you're replacing the colours with trasparency.

Oh, I never thought about it that way...
...thanks, gonna try out GFX Gale then.
EDIT: LOL, looks like I already have GFX Gale without noticing.
Anyway, does someone know, how I can index images with GFX Gale? I cannot seem to find an option, which would do that...
...hell, I cannot even find an option, which would resize the image...

click teh menus up there, usaully the options dealing with palette and colur are the oens that deal with the whole image not just the current frame.

Thanks, I found it.
Sadly, GFX Gale's outcome is actually worse.
However, I just found an idea, which I would like to try out first.

Okay, I tried out my method, and it worked.
Too bad that I actually already did some great mistakes before, wich caused the sprite to have too much black, resulting in an kinda-but-not-really-MvC3 feeling.
Also, with my problem basically being solved, do you still want me to post the screencaps?

Uhm, okay.
Also, before I post, I just want to reiterate that it only started to look worse, when I have resized the sprite after indexing the sprite with the color count of 64.

Okay, just recently, I have found out that someone released an early alpha of Filia, and I looked into the SFF, just to see that the creator did NOT resized the sprites.
So I guess I will also do the same and will do the resizing through Localcoord. That way, there are actually lots of advantages going on here.
I just go and solve this thread then.

Okay, I also actually tried out the indexing again without the resizing, and it really looks 10 times better now.
So yeah, that's all, folks.
