I'm quite curious as to how everyone here, especially the MUGEN contributors and creators, handles any stress and frustrations that they come across in the world of MUGEN, whether it be fixing mistakes that takes forever, making sprites/stages from scratch, or even people themselves.

Reason I'm asking this is because I don't know how MUGEN creators manage to keep sane when doing what they do half the time. I've been working a couple days so far making a sprite from scratch, and still aren't satisfied with how it's going right now (which I may ask someone to touch up on....). I was wondering what do YOU guys do to keep yourselves from getting frustrated?

I guess for me, having music on while doing it helps, and playing Brawl in-between breaks as well......then again, I usually don't stop until I get what I'm working on done so...yeeeah....

Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say here. ^^

the only time mugen has ever been stressful was when i wanted to finish SBME on my birthday. Otherwise it's an excellent relaxation technique.

Dealing with frustrating people in the help section is worse  ;P

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

the most apart from the community, specially mugen infantry and mugen fighters guild, the better.

the rest, as i did some sprite work, i don“t really care if they were done with errors now.

  • Somebody PM when Caddie is no longer a mod.
I find a moronic thread and then bash some poor guy for speaking his mind, that always make me feel better.

The truth is Mugen is the stress reliever. When I'm at work and my boss is being a dick, I go to my work computer and waist his time by checking the forums. A kind of revenge. When I'm at home and still feel pissed about my boss I throw on Mugen and beat the hell out of chars that always helps. And then when I get board with my roster I start sprite ripping and messing with code. When I do that the whole world is gone.

The only time you will get stressed, if you get a time limit, or you promised it on a certain date. But apart from that, Mugen is a good stress reliever, and can distract you. Making stages calm me dowm, when i'm stressed.

You just have to remember, that nothing can't be completed in a day, it will take a couple of days or weeks, it depends on how much quality and detail you are putting into your creation.

Sprite work is quite hard, but remember, nothing can be perfect the first time. I have the same problems with my Konata sprites, Then i though, as long as i have a base, i can always go back, and add detail later.

I only ever get stressed when I have to rip sprites and sounds. Not literally stressed, but more like, 'god I just don't want to do this somebody get me a sff with perfect axis' sort of thing. That's just laziness on my side though.

Otherwise, as other's have already mentioned, MUGEN for me keeps me relaxed and keeps my mind off certain real life ordeals.
