This question comes from a very awesome memory of walking into my local Best Buy in Orange, CT (I'm a New Englander!!). I walked over to the Laptop section, and would you know it, Mugen was running on all 4 display laptops!! A 45 minute conversation ensued with the manager who set his game up. Totally awesome.

Personally, I had all of my friends over recently and we fired up my older WinMugen on my '42 LCD with arcade sticks galore. To say hilarious awesomeness ensued is a giant understatement. Also, all of my friends are oblivious to Mugen, so the lasting effect was amazing.

Anyone else have something cool to share?? It's great to show off your collection in person instead of always on the forums/online.

I'd like to report two robots on the MFG forums: One is EXShadow. The other is Saikoro.
There should be a Saikoro plugin for Photoshop.

I have tried to showcase mugen in a certain anime forum, but nobody was interested.
Latelly I just try videos and nothing exceptional, once a real life friend from my job gave his pendrive, so I could save a mugen folder to introduct it to him.
But after I gave it back, he lost the pendrive by himself, how ironic.

You had fun? I kinda understand the part with the manager. What kinda characters did he use? I showcased it with my brother and he found it to be fun too. But, don't you feel like you're the only good Mugen player among your friends? It gets boring if you keep on winning against them, y'know?

playing classic winmugen is the best, you never know how long it would last before ctd, it is like a real life.

I have some friends who have more or less similar taste in gaming (turnbase strategy, fighting game, card games) and one day he tried my character and liked it, so we play shadow matches with a same character, it was the best day of my life.

I had a blast. It's funny with my friends though. They'll pick a CvS2 style character that they're familiar with and still ask "What are the moves??" expecting the character to be different. When it came to originals like DragonClaw and Ubu, fights seemed off as nobody was familiar with new material. Laughter ensued when we pit Super Mario against Optimus Prime. Everyone loved it though. Since it was WinMugen, the Select Screen was so pixelated on a 42 inch screen we had a hard time navigating it since I didn't organize my old roster of 795 characters (Using the old BrokenMugen). All of my friends are waaaaaaaay into fighting games, so theres always an even keel of balance between matches. Hell, we all grew up playing all of Capcom's stuff on the Dreamcast (Rival Schools, Power Stone, Soul Calibur, MvC1 and 2, CvS1 and 2 imported).

And for Best Buy, this happened like 3 years ago, but I remember seeing the Australian Outback SFA2 stage using Reu's characters (Ken and Ryu). I don't remember what Motif he was using, but let me say I got really excited as I was actually talking to someone in person instead of the forum. We were like giddy schoolgirls!!

I used to play it in college with some friends doing some matches  in the short break periods we had to kill the time, they didn't know what mugen was so I guess they found it quite interesting.

Well in my group of friend when it comes to gaming, they're all into adventure games and such like and very few of them beat-em-ups so showcasing it for me is a bit of a non-event.

It would be good to showcase it somewhere but at the minute its just for me.
I rock

wow i remember few years ago when i showed a couple of my long time friends mugen and didnt realize 2 of them been playing it for a year before i even got into it in 2001. the other 2 friends liked the roster i had but bypassed all the familiar faces and went into the originals. one guy thats like 41 now and a hardcore fighting gamer just laughed at it cause he couldnt understand why would people wanna copy making stuff  thats already around and just use the mugen engine and fighter factory to create original good characters like aiduzzi stuff and reu dragon claw as examples he said.
rest of us kinda agreed but its each his own on that. lol. so the 2 that didnt know about mugen actually liked it , came on the net to see forums and then just said NAHHH too much girlie drama. and just made up rosters and kept them whenever they were bored. they now dont traverse in mugen but we got some mean reunion mugen fights going at last years Reunion party.

It is around 2003 or 2004, my friend and I were playing Mugen in library and people were watching us playing then there are a few people requesting from us to make a copy for them
