Around 6.5 years.I've been playing around with editing since around 5 years ago, and as of recent, I've been trying out my hand at creating stuff.
Damn, I don't even remember making this thread...Either way, it's good to see you're alive and well Alexlexus. Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyHow was/is your deployment?
6 years of mugen...I remember in 2007 i was downloading tons of chars(i had more than 1000) and using EVE.What scares me is that some people still uses that screenpack.
It's gonna be like 10 years come early next year. I got into Mugen in early 2004, but started taking it more seriously in 2007.
8-7 years I remember my cousins playing it then recently 3 years ago started taking it seriously then I made an account for mugen guild which I'm glad I did because I always ended up here anyway when I searched for chars.

Pft, look at all the noooobies saying they've been around for ONLY 6 years.AMATEURS...Bia is gonna spank me later for this behavior. She outranks everyone in seniority. Happy 14th, Bia. YOU'RE OLD
I downloaded some weird and terrible compilation way, way back when, I dunno when exactly but it was in around 2000/2001. It was called Anime Battle or something, I don't know. It had anime in the title, and thus had various anime characters such as: Goku, Sailor Mercury, Shadow Dio, Wing Gundam, Roll (uh...) a Tails made from Sonic 3 sprites that could do a Hadoken (...) Jedah (how are any of these anime), and more, probably. I only realized it was the same engine when I heard the "super stock filled" sound. That shit was burned into my memory. And also the lifebars were exactly the same but it was the sound that did it !I might even still have a copy of it, somewhere, on an old hard drive. But that doesn't really count and I don't remember how I wound up finding MUGEN again but it says I registered here in 2007 so that's like 6 years so yeah 6 years I guess. Once I hit seven years I have to go back to my home planet.
I didn't watch videos until that Chun-Li vs. Peter video went viral, but I didn't actually start playing until.... I think 2008?I'd check, since that was around the time I joined Mugen Infantry, but for obvious reasons, I can't check. :V
10 years. It definitely feels like longer considering how different the scene was back then.Much smaller MFG community, everyone used DOS Mugen, less people strived for balance and more strived for "How many characters can I fit in one screenpack?"Also, everyone was up the ass with rules regarding using others' work, regardless if you credited them.

Quote2007-2008I remember something...... it was the first time I saw Mugen videos like this one. But I was too scared (not for the video, but for installing everything), so I didn't bother with it.Then, some years later, I saw more or less the same videos and became interested in that "mugen" stuff (I changed my mind; as they say, "they always come back "); I found some tutorials for installing the characters, stages, went to warehouses to download more characters, downloaded the EVE screenpack for WinMugen (I wasn't registered in any forum). I found Mugen Lair, then Guild and Generations. I lurked for a lot of time, learned about mugen codes and sprites, then registered in the last forum I mentioned. And that's how it started (online) for me.If you count that, I'm "mugening" for 5-6 years too. Otherwise 3 years.Just to fix my other post.
In MUGEN I started like 2001-2002 when I knew about this, started to play and later joined to Mugen Hispania. As a creator, I started with things in 2003, so I got like 10 years in this and I regret nothing
