How to use different versions of one character

Hey, I'm new here. I've had Mugen for 2 months now (I know I know, kinda late), and I'm enjoying it.  I just recently downloaded Robert Garcia with 5 different versions of himself. I noticed a lot of characters can be accessed by holding start. My question is how do I setup Robert where I can choose which mode I want to use at the start of the match without having to make five or six different Robert Files? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.  :S

Hello!

I believe I received an e-mail from you not too long ago.

It's actually quite simple to use Robert's different modes, in his folder (Robert_WLS) you will see several .def files, (Robert_WLS.def, NGBCRobert_WLS.def, CRobert_WLS.def, etc). Each DEF file changes Robert's mode, and it's essentially a new character altogether.

To use his different modes you can do two things:

1. Add the different modes to your select.def. Like so:

robert_wls
robert_wls/ngbcrobert_wls.def

This will add regular Robert and NGBC mode Robert to the select screen, right next to each other. Just add a different line for the different modes. This is my preferred way of handling modes. :3

2. Use a modified DEF file to have all the modes in one.

Open up Robert_WLS.def with notepad and select all the text, then delete it and replace it with the text contained in the following quoted spoiler:

Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

This will now make him able to switch modes depending on which palette you selected instead of adding him multiple times to the select screen.

I hope this helps you!
