Hi. This is the first thing I have done for the Mugen community.

This is Batman.
I ripped the sprites from a Batman Flash Game on Cartoon network and I made a lot of edits.
This is very much a beta and so far I have very little knowledge of coding so I used P.O.T.S Nash as a base.
Besides some messing around I did with P.O.T.S Code this version is mostly a sprite swap.
In future releases I will be adding original code and other public domain snips as I become more experienced at coding.
One of the intros loops and I haven't figured out how to stop it. I will be fixing that very soon.
Anyway I hope you enjoy and feedback and help will be very appreciated.

I tryed him out real quick and here are some things and I understand he is a bit of a spriteswap and it's cool so I tryed to keep that in mind when giving feedback.

-Small portrait is mialigned
-Big portrait it misaligned
-Alot of his attacks, basic movements and stances are way off the stage. I'd use the little plus sign thing to better align your sprites. The floor being the top part of the plus sign table but here's what I mean basicly:


-Walking foward and back seem to be misaligned or it's just his walk looks wierd altogather.

-de-bug flow on his somersault air attack here:



-Some sprites have some white around them I mianly noticed it on one of his LK's:


He also has some with random black spects threw out his gethits as well.

-Nothing really against the CLSN2's sine they won't match him just yet due to him being a slight sprite swap but I'd go threw it and fix some of the ones like his walking, turning and crouching ones.

-CLSN1's seem to have most of the attacks coverd but some like these here can be cleaned up:


Can't say much on gameplay as his moves and everything about feel un-organzed. I can play with him but can't seriously take him against higher tier characters or those with higher levels of A.I.

Hopefully when finished and updated he'll play more like a Batman then Nash and have some good'ol Batman sounds.

Thanks very helpful.

There are some Batman sounds but most are still Nash's. Will be changing this in the future and I want to throw in a couple of super endings with the classic BAM and POW stuff but that will be in the future.

I would see that more as a parody(NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT) but the hitsparks would be awesome.

BTW: Is there a reason that his jaw is miscolored?

PS: I don't like the movie theatre's corn.

I like the hit spark idea. I'll be working on that.

As far as his chin goes I'll fix that as well. The reason that happened is because he wasn't easy to rip. In the game, some of the background colors matched batman so in ripping I would have a tough time separating him and in the case of his jaw I had to rebuild it.

Not bad i like this  Batman more than the other's i have

it be nice if he could get a dash/sprint of some sort.

This Batman looks to be  "The Batman from the current animated series The Batman

So Audio Effects from his voice/moves...ect would fit him

pretty nice i think,more

combo's be  pretty sweet,

he should also walk with his cape covering

his whole front side since that is how he

mostly is shown.Until he sometimes

 gets into the action.I really like this Dark knight

He's already got a top spot in my roster

great work,hope to see more of your work,can't wait

for the next updates. :)

Not being bad or all, but I hope you have AT LEAST told PoTS that you used his Nash

Clic on the Sign, then on The flags (U.S. 4 English talkers & MX 4 Spanish Talkers), then go to "Descargas/Downloads" And You're in the Downloads Section

No I didn't. I've read here in the forums P.O.T.S saying that his stuff is open source - the hitsparks. If it's not and P.O.T.S has a problem with it. I'll take down the link and start over.

did you get these sprites and/or help from _kronos_??

because he is the one who showed me how to rip sprites from flash games. how did you learn??

I got the sprites with AnimGet and then I used the gimp to extract Batman from his background image.

I learned how to do this like I have with all things mugen. Messing around and reading the forums.

By the way Gimp is open source and is comparable to adobe. One thing that sucked about extracting from this kind of game is that there is (as far as I know) no way to turn off the layers. I had to use the gimps select contiguous regions tool and manually click every single group of pixels and batman has a lot of groups. I also had to rebuild some lost portions because the background would match, this happened mostly in Batman's feet.

After I had all of the spirits from the game I save bmps of P.O.T.S Nash's sprites and then transferred my Batman sprites over them so that I could use Nash's Pallets. After that I used plain old paint and gimp to make edits. I'm sure there are easier ways to rip sprites but this was the way I did it because I'm cheep and didn't want to pay for programs.

If you want help with ripping something just message me and I will give you pointers. But like I said, I bet there is an easier way.

And if you think ripping is pain, I'm messing around with code right now and it is amazing how much work goes into every part of a chars. Hell the ai alone could drive someone crazy.

nice, the way i learned is finding the actual flash file the extracting the sprites from it. because all sprites are kind've in a separate folder once you get the .swf file. so yes there is an easier way.
