Ever play someone in a fighting game and when they lose, they give you some ridiculous excuse why they loss? Share it!

The biggest one I hear when I play my friend in Tekken 5 is usually because of the controller.

Friend: "Dude, yo ass is lucky. If my L2 button was workin' like it should've I would've beat yo ass."
Me: "Fine. Let's switch controllers."

(ctrlrs swtiched. I won with the faulty controller, he lost)

Friend: "Fuck! Oh man I almost had you! Had I pulled off that one move with Xiaoyu it would've been all over with!"

I actually do play better in the arcade because there's no one to play with at home except CPU.

That one may actually be valid in some cases. When I used to play mk3 on my genesis with a friend, after unlocking the bosses I was always able to pick one faster than him, and since only one person can use one at a time it was "instant hell murder".

There is people who really can play better at the arcade version (controllers) than in the home versions, because you know, not everybody is used to gamepads/keyboards.
