I Need Serious Help and I need someone to sprite this for me.

Go ahead and laugh the char doesn't look that good.Anywho this is supposed to be Kaname Chidori from Fullmetal Panic.I drew her in a Sailor Outfit because Sailor outfits is the kind of uniform I draw for my schoolgirl chars.Anyway I'm having a real frustrating time with the editing of turning this into a sprite.The image comes out too large and I'm using paint.I'm wondering if there's someone who's eager to help me because this IS my very first char.The other one I screwed up REAL badly.So now I'm wondering if someone can show me the way to shrinking down the image,giving it colors,moves,&turning it into a sprite.Also I need sounds as well and her weapon will be a fan of course and I'm thinking about punching gloves for whenever she punches(Like in the Manga).Anyway I'm hoping someone can help and yes I know I need to look in the docs and that's exactly what I'm doing I need lots of Help Suggestions and Ideas.So help a noob out and if there's a better sprite editing software that's For FREE then tell me also.

Plus how do you get a handrawn character to have the same stance,and somewhat of some attacks of another character.Like Koizumi is a handrawn character edited out of Shiki,How do I do that?I want to make Kaname melty blood style and I'll need some sprites.Please help me here ppl.

Well there's always www.google.com

Anything you want to find you should really try that out. Yes you can get melty blood and rip from it. Thats why there's melty blood characters available.

The other suggestion is get a character that looks similar (2k2 athena maybe) and turn them into what you wish to make.

Alright thanks.So how do I get this handrawn character to resemble another character?(For example Minoo's Koizumi is handrawn but edited from Shiki)How do I do that?Plus how do I turn this into a sprite and just so you know I SUCK badly at spriting.I need a spriter.Or is there anyway I can learn to sprite properly because I try and sprite this drawing But I keep screwing up.BADLY.

Take a sprite, edit it with paint pixel by pixel so that it looks like your character. You can't both handdraw an art and edit it out, it's either edited or hand drawn. Well, you can hand draw some parts and edit the others, but mixing is quite hard to make it uniform. What you're thinking of is drawing pixel by pixel - by computer, not by hand.

a lot of spriters start out like that, it is a matter of learning to sprite. my suggestions would be to practice a lot and lurk at sprite editing places, a google search would give out decent results for sprite forums and tutorials. most of the guys who do good quality sprite edits have spent hundreds of hours spriting, and most likely their sprites looked like shit when they just started.

Awww man now I'm REALLY confused.So your saying If I want to do it by hand then I have to draw ALL the sprites for the character stance,Attacks,Running,Jumping Etc.?Now what do I do? ???

drawing skill does not directly translate to spriting skill, artistic skill does, though.

if i were in your case, i would start out by getting a good image editing program, something like graphics gale  http://www.humanbalance.net/gale/us/ or allegro sprite editor or promotion (though i personally recomend gfx gale).

if you want to sprite kaname chidori, get any references you need. If you are going for kof style get a sprite set of kofxi athena, who has a sailor suit, if sfz style get one of sakura. to get a understanding on how shaedes work and what not is where general arts knowledge comes, you can simply to to learn it as you need it, or study those concepts first, it only depends on how would you feel more comfortable.

also, get a few sprite references that have a similar body/face to kaname and try to sprite sakura/athena's outfit over them.

I know double posting is bad and triple posting is worse but Now I'm not sure what I can do now.I mean I thought I can just draw it up and use it on another character edit spritesheet.Aw man what do I do now? ???

Alright.Maybe I can use the Athena and Sakura I currently have and see what I can do.But the Spriting aw man.

Well I'll see what I can do.Youtube cannot help me.But like you said it's about artistic skill.I'll find some way to make time to practice on getting better.How long will this character take I don't know.But thanks PPLs.

as someone else pointed out, satrt with one psrite, post in graphics arts. the more obvious flaws wil be pointed out, refine until satisfaction.

I know Triple Posting is evil here in this forum but I guess I do have to find a char that has the face/Body & Hair of Kaname.Problem is I can't think of a single character that's similar to her.The only one I can think of is Yae from Ganbare Goemon but she's no longer available for mugen and no one has her.
Now I'm stuck.I'll have to start searching.

there are a lot of anime faced characters, just look for one with a simlar hair style, otherwise, improvise.
