Good to know that Syn's situation is improving.

Yeah, marriage (something I'm not doing in the foreseeable future) isn't as great as it sounds; half of them end in divorce. And yes, stats are similar in other developed nations. Besides, the U.S. is a place where people learn about life from celebrities; expectations from the dating/marriage pool shouldn't be very high. Better to stick to non-marriage relationships until one is ready.

in the case of biased divorce courts and marriage being a "risk", you post one ridiculous fringe story as your evidence when the evidence points otherwise (custody is easier to attain for men on state and national levels, alimony is actually rarely adequate for women who are almost always worse off financially post-divorce)

My deepest sympathy on that situation...I've been through the same thing, except I wasn't married. I worked two jobs, and went to school on the weekend to take care of a woman who became a parasite. Some women just aren't ready to deal with a busy man who honestly works for his living.

All I can say is some things have to fall apart, in order for them to fall in place. It will make you a stronger man for battles ahead of you! The single world awaits you...have fun and love what you do man, you definitely deserve it.

The first statistic about custody uses words like "primary" and "joint" to bend their studies. When a man gets to have his children 2 days a week, that's not considered primary custody, that's considered joint And all the other technical use of terms like that or lack thereof can bend statistics. Using statistics made by a college and that are not peer reviewed is mostly naive. And even still, since youb linked to it and believe it, the same link you posted reads like this:

"Research studies from throughout the country indicate that women's standards of living consistently decrease more than men's after a divorce because women are left with a disproportionately large share of the cost of raising children and a disproportionately small share of the marriage's wealth and earning power."

So, while your statistics show that men get more children in Massachusetts, THROUGHOUT the USA, it's absolutely the other way around. So, women get the bigger burden in raising their children, and because of that they need more money from men their ex-husbands. It would make more sense to give the children to the parent who is more capable of caring for the child financially in this case.

Also, since you like statistics, look up the percentage of who initiates divorce more, either by their actions or by simply initiated it. It'll be overwhelmingly women. So, if women stopped getting more divorces, then their wouldn't even need to be a custody battle and men wouldn't get a hole in their pockets.

So, considering all of that, marriage is a hell of a risk for men since there's over a 70 percent chance it'll end in a divorce, he'll only see his child twice a week (if his ex-wife doesn't disobey the court, which, from purely anecdotal experience from my job, she will), and he'll be in debt to his wife for a significant amount of time after the divorce. Not wroth it. Don't get married. Avoid the risk. Save yourself a headache.

You said you agree that courts are biased in alimony, yet you still make excuses and say you disagree. It doesn't make any sense. What do you actually believe.

I never said feminists made the US a horrible place for men to live, I only implied that it made male and female relationships worse. Stop attacking strawman arguments.

Go into the relationship not loving or with your feelings guarded so you're not prone to acting so foolishly. No one should ever be able to get you to act this way especially over something as stupid as cheating.

Overall SyN was pretty damn intelligent and patient in that occassion but honestly if the disappointment in that relationship has been building for a lot of time I would have done the same thing. Who cares if the divorce was already settled.

Glad to see you are alive and well and very glad you got your life in order after this mess of relationship from your standpoint. It must feel good to start fresh after all of this, especially if the source of income is still there.

Man thats rough but thats how females can be never accepting responsibility for their actions only blaming them on someone else.
