Hey everyone I was wondering is it bad to use the auto collision box thing in Fighter Factory? It seems easier and more effective than putting them in manually with 1 for the body and 1 for the head. Why is having multiple collision boxes a bad thing?

Thanks,

Zerox

because it makes mugen lag
genereally 1 to 3 collisions is more than enough
besides its not that hard/time consuming to do them yourself

Because 2D fighters aren't about hyper realism where you can't dodge a fireball because your toes have collision boxes.

So this many collision boxes will cause the game to lag? I've seen characters that had way more of them spammed onto them:

the lag may not seem noticeable to med-high end pcs but the low ends will surely feel it
besides are those many CLSNs really necessary?

FF has a glitch with default clsn, if you use it sometimes in certain animations the rest of it will have no CLSN at all :/
pls

It happens when you define clsn2default with normal clsn2, only the clsn2default will be in effect, in addition to that, if you define a clsn2default, then in a following frame you use a normal clsn2, the latter, will cancel out the clsn2default.

Also if you use clsn2default, then decide to specify one clsn1 on a frame following it, MUGEN  will not display the clsn2 on the frame of the clsn1.

That Ryu sprite needs only one Clsn2, or two at most

But he has to think, point, click and drag while thinking. Don't ask for too much :(

The biggest thing is that... Using something automatically generated means that it's something you didn't double-check, meaning it's something that you do not control. That's what's bad.
Let's say something odd happens because of this (a clsn gets misplaced and you don't notice it, resulting in your character getting hit for no apparent reason, or a clsn1 being switched with a clsn2 etc.) can you imagine how long it will take you before realizing "oh hey, maybe it's that automated thing I didn't double-check" ? It's something you miss easily, and when you finally find it after hours of searching, you just feel dumb for missing it.
Doing things properly take time ; and in exchange, it will save you so much time to get something right, with much less bugs to get rid of, knowing exactly what you did, and knowing what you are absolutely sure that you did right. It's also just better to get used to doing things properly generally speaking rather than leaving it to an automated tool that you don't even know how it does things. It's not even hard to do, so why bother using an automated tool that leaves room for uncertainty and possible mistakes. Doing it yourself is just that much which you will not have to check again and again afterward.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.
