Here I'll post a few details of my current character WIPs. This list is by no means finalized, and I may pick up something out of interest, or drop something out of disinterest. So here we goKing DededeOnce again, he'll be using the KSS system that Jared and I use. However, instead of a sliding kick, Dedede will have his trip body slam from that game. Also, even though he has a solid movelist in Brawl, I'm instead going to focus on moves and things he's done over the course of the franchise. Just to give you an idea of what I mean, one of his specials will have him throw eggs/bombs like in that egg eating mini-game in Kirby's Adventure. I'm not entirely scrapping the Brawl movelist, though, so expect to possibly see some influences here and there (most notably his Final Smash, Waddle Dee Army)Ren IdagawaLet me just get this clear. I really hated Big Bang Beat. Ren, his stage, and his theme song were the only things I liked about it. Since I ripped his song and made his stage, it's only natural that I want to make Ren. However, he will not follow the Big Bang Beat system at all. While he will retain the majority of his movelist (Still debating whether to keep his Big Bang Break, though), his playing style will be something totally different from the game, probably some kind of fusion style as seen in Pneophen's or PotS' works.WIPs that I mentioned in the past that will likely never see the light of daySailor Mars: Got bored of making her, especially since Kamek's updated Sailor Jupiter accomplishes a lot of the same things I was going to do, so the result would just feel too similar.Toad: I'm getting nowhere on the edits. Trying to convert a 2-button character into a 6-button one is harder than I thought. If anyone wants to help in that department, just let me know and I'll send you some of the sprites I already did as reference.
Fuck yes, it's nice to see that you'll be adding Brawl things to Dedede. Also I have no idea how BBB plays anyway (same for most of the community too, I believe) so it shouldn't be too much of a problem here, especially if said game was terrible in the first place.
I don't think a fully accurate Ren is possible, seeing as you'd have to have the gems fly out of the enemy, and that'd lag the fuck out of MUGEN.

Also IIRC, it was Splode that made a character with gems, but that did lag Mugen.

Since, at the very least, the Waddle Dee Army will need the whole 'dance' thing going on.
Would there be any special conditions to the Final Smash other than probably a standard level 3 bar needed? While we're on the topic of things getting knocked out of things, you could have an attack that could knock a Smash Ball out of the opponent and when you get it, then you can do it. That might be too complicated tho.
Both Splode and Sunboy made characters spawning collectable things. Sunboy did MVC gems, Splode coins/gems (?) from one of the Puzzle Fighter games. None of those characters caused DOS MUGEN to lag, but it's very possible that they lag now in WinMUGEN (lots of helpers).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe0ABFay_ywI personnaly wouldn't miss that... at all. With the exception of SNKP (and maybe a couple others), it's like 2D fighting games nowadays are just about seeing who can combo the most normal attacks. And I second the request for Dedede with voice, assuming it was good in Brawl (haven't played).

So I used WinMUGEN, and still, no lag.But I wouldn't see the point of collecting the gems in MUGEN (at least for Ren) anyway.
In Big Bang Beat, the gem collection was for super and "dash" energy, so it'd be useless, especially because Jango is considering a different style instead of accuracy.

At all.CvS Cyanaster said, February 10, 2008, 11:48:15 amAnd I second the request for Dedede with voice, assuming it was good in Brawl (haven't played). At the moment, he is not able to speak. However, if sound rips for Dedede come out, I will heavily consider it. That or use his Japanese voice from the anime but the quality for that might not be too good.~*TempesT*~ said, February 10, 2008, 11:43:01 amWould there be any special conditions to the Final Smash other than probably a standard level 3 bar needed? Awesome.Ren was one of the better characters in the game. The sound of a gameplay mixed DeDeDe will be good too. Especialy when incorperateing his Final Smash.

Of course, Dedede doesn't need to have the voice from the get-go; gameplay is naturally the top priority.
Awesome! A SSBB Dedede!I was wondering when someone was going to start making SSBB Characters...I hope it goes well! (Im SO looking foward to Dedede's final smash!)
No? He said he'd still be going by his current system, but adding a few Brawl things. However, a Brawl mode would be awesome.
