Besides, it's not like knowledge of Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency is mandatory in order to comprehend Stardust Crusaders. Still, I'll always recommend starting from the very beginning as both parts are awesome on their own, not to mention that they shed some light on the Joestars vs Dio conflict.

The first 2 parts of the manga aren't even that long, and they are great, but once you read them it kind of kills how the action used to work, because they pretty much pulled stands out of their ass in part 3.
