I used mass' Milan Flare as the base for Kain Blade.

- neutral jumping strong punch now hits twice
- close standing strong kick now hits twice
- lose animation plays not only during drawgame and timeout but also round that doesn't end the whole match

1. Grab Moves
- Suplex Throw: when close, F, x/y/z or B, x/y/z

2. Special Moves
- Fireball: D, DF, F, x/y/z

  * press a/b/c repeatedly to followup with a triple kick combo

3. Power Up (must have gained enough power or collected 5 potions)

Great job with Kain Blade!  You've made a lot of folks happy with this release.

Here's a minor suggestion:  Change his size to this-

xscale           = 0.57       
yscale           = 0.53

Hey Werewood,  check your PM.  My only complaint is that the sprites are pixilated, which isn't really obvious until you try and make new palettes.  But, I PM'd you a solution.

While you update Kain Blade, be sure to look back and forth between his game (or source) version and your MUGEN conversion, in order to make him as good looking as the other Golden Axe: The Duel characters converted by Mass. Hearing about the sprite problems other people commented about makes me want to suggest you to look at the arcade/MAME version, instead of the Sega Saturn version, but that might not be necessary; however, after comparing him to his source, some of his moves don't look as good as his source, most notably his fireball and flying, flaming slash moves.  The arcade version is what Mass converted his characters from.

Other problems that need more work in order to match his source are some parts of his "landing on back" (LOB) effects and his missing losing taunt seen after he becomes KO'd. And I don't think it was necessary to add the Golden Axe in the middle of each stage he appears in, but if anyone wants to remove it, they'll have to use Fighter Factory.

If you are planning to program his AI, be sure to include some combos seen in this video.  Otherwise, wait for his AI patch to be created by someone else.

Overall, at least it's the easiest Kain Blade to find, and probably better than Demon Lord's.
My Mugen Wish List would include protagonists, mascots and other iconic characters with everything they have brought straight from their source with little or no editing.

About Count Monte's complaint is that the sprites are pixilated, this is halfly true.
I use SSF to rip Kain Blade sprites, not MAME, because MAME GA:TD runs so slow on my low-end PC plus I don't know how to rip from MAME.  SSF doesn't have a resolution option thus I get stuck with its default resolution.  The ripped sprites are bigger than regular characters' such as KFM's:




You can clearly see that Kain sprites are not pixilated at all.  What makes Kain look pixilated?  That's MUGEN xyscales.

Current scales:
[Size]
xscale           = 0.55
yscale           = 0.55


If no scaling:
[Size]
xscale           = 1
yscale           = 1


If using 0.5:
If no scaling:
[Size]
xscale           = 1
yscale           = 1


I was thinking to use 0.5 but Kain would be smaller than KFM!  So I used 0.55.
If you guys think 0.5 looks better than 0.55 then I can make a 0.5 version for alternative download.

I already mentioned above that I cannot use MAME for ripping things so all I can follow is the Sega Saturn version.
I am not as skillful as mass yet when my PC gets an upgrade and I can spend more time on Art Money ripping from MAME method I will go for MAME for sure.......but not likely to happen in near future.
About some moves don't look good, please specify which moves and what time exactly.........fireball?  Starting motion?  Firing motion?  Finishing motion?  Velocity or timing problem?  Please be specific.  I am willing to fix.
About your "landing on back" (LOB) effects, sorry but I don't understand what it means.  If you were talking about knock down, falling, bouncing, and lying, then there is nothing much I can change because these are all MUGEN standard statedefs with required sprites which I have ripped in a complete set.
And.........the losing animation is there! 

But it only appears in lose by time up and draw game and lose by not dying.
I will see what I can do to have it appear even when losing by dying for a match that doesn't end the whole battle.........stay tuned!   :sugoi:
About the Golden Axe in the middle of the stage, that's for a little decoration.  My story is, after Kain won Death Adder and the Boss he owned the Golden Axe, and when he joined MUGEN he brings along with his souvenir just to show off  8)

Older versions of MAME have a tile viewer.
Press [F4] to access the tile-viewer. Press [Enter] to go through the other screens:

"page up/page down" quick scrolling

And either [F12] to take a snapshot of the image or [Print screen] to capture the image. you might need the screen to be in window mode for this.

I tried your MAME "F4" method but these are all I got:

I tried all zooming and paging alternations but none of them seem useful.  All 7 pages don't look like having any Kain Blade sprites.......not even body parts............ >:(

I also have questions:
- Even a usable sprite can be viewed in Tile Viewer, they are divided into little squares, does one have to cut each square and put them together like a puzzle??  That will be super tedious!!
- Spites in Tile Viewer have the same resolution as the game when they are zoomed in/out this way??
- How can this Tile Viewer contain a complete set of sprites?  MAME cannot advance frame by frame......

Finally, maybe I did something wrong...............can you please make me a working example?  Like a successful F4 screenshot that shows a nice looking Kain Blade sprite?  If I can get it to work, I am willing to re-rip all Kain Blade sprites from MAME.
