aka. Castle Von Sabrewulf, though that's the official name for the KI2 variant of Sabrewulf's stage.Has parallaxHas limited animationDoes not have included music; since there are multiple versions of Sabrewulf's theme (and they're all my favorites) I've decided to let it up to youClick on any image to download. Well I made it in 1.0 but it works in Win too so why not.Looking forward to the feedback.Must note, however, that I was not aiming for accuracy, but rather following modern convention. So while deltas may be inaccurate from source, it's made to fit regular-sized characters, which is why I had to bootleg the floor until I can get the proper tiles for those in their entirety. Also the chandeliers but eh.
For someone not aiming for accuracy, you sure were accidentally accurate. Vertical placement of the chandeliers and timing of the fire are both spot on. As far as actual issues go you only have two. The delta on the chandeliers is wrong. It's in front of the characters but moves slower than them. It should move faster than them (as it does in the source game). Then there's the parallax, which slides. Since you mentioned you might update the floor, I'm not gonna bother getting a good value for it. But when you do fix it, listen to the wise words of MaxBeta. MaxBeta said, July 06, 2012, 05:14:38 pmSorry for the double post but I thought I'd bump this with one last very important tip I learned by way of Tamez about parallax values.Use a thousandth decimal number sequence for the X value and you should always manage more accurate movement in relation to the character's feet.Like this:x.xxx
Regardless of if I get the proper floor tiles later or not (which seems unlikely now due to certain issues), I'd appreciate the value you'd propose me.I've been trying out 2.355 just now and it seems to look a lot better. As for the chandeliers, I've taken the character sizes and the different background delta I used into account. While they were indeed slower, I can't make 'em too fast. 1.165 seems to do the trick.Waiting for your opinion before I update this.
Nice to see you take on an old schooler Shwa. I'll be downloading and testing later when I get home.Killer Instinct SNES has 3 different stage parallax parameters for its stages.1. perspective-like wide floors like the various rooftops and interior arenas.2. Smaller interiors (Sabrewolf/Jago/Eyedol's Alt.)3. Bridges etc. with foreground delta elements.I don't want to impose my parallax code but you should try and work around the following values I'll provide as follows:delta = x.xxx, 1xscale = 1, 1.483Hope it works out for ya.LOL @ Tamez quoting me quoting him and later calling me "wise" ....That made my day bro.
Nicely done. SabreWulf's stage was always one of my favorites. Although the SNES rendition paled in comparison to the Arcade Game's oomph and atmosphere, I played the hell out of the console version. Thanks for the share!!
@Shwa 1.165 on the chandeliers looks much better than before. Since you you might not get a new floor, I'll come up with something later using Max's suggested value. I trust his imput on SNES KI.
