Welcome to KOFE!!! :D

What is this project?  In one sentence it's bringing a bunch of excellent KOF Mugen creations together under one system.  This isn't simply a compilation, everything down to the character's basics are reworked.  In addition to having the same system in place for all characters, the game is striving for balance.  Even boss characters have been toned down (no damage handicaps here).  The game is hoping strategy will be the main element used in battles and not spamming cheap characters.

The system:

This a simple fighter that anyone can pick up, play and lean moves for any character without having to worry about complex motions or conventions like POWing.  In essence it's a blend of KOF with a little bit of SF's user friendly style.

Gameplay tries to mimic the basic gameplay of KOF '98 advanced with a few differences:

- No POWing.  DM system works as such that each character has 2 DMs (Level 1s), 1 SDM (Level 2) and 1 HSDM (Level 3).  There is currently no restrictions for the HSDM (low life, etc..)
- The combo system doesn't allow for weak attacks to chain into anything other than other weak attacks or a combo linker called a "Unique Chain Attack".  2 in 1s still exist for strong attacks.
- All characters have a minimum of 5 special attacks allowing for more diversity and a "new" playing experience.
- Some new move types like air to ground grabs and Type 3 counters.

Aha. Dude that's awesome. I'm using the same system (few DM's, one SDM, one HSDM (no condition)).

But I will most definitely be sure to differentiate and to watch out for this here, as there will be some notable differences in our overall games.

Then again, I'm not putting anything up until I get halfway done anyway.

I love fullgame when they're done with care.  I was kinda sad to see K.O.D.'s project dissolve.  The world of mugen needs diversity because that's what it's based on. :)  I look forward to seeing your game.   Best of luck.

We're at 2/3rds right now.  Just give it another year and all of Mugen 1.0's eventual advancements for the completion.  I already enjoy it with the 40 characters it has.  After Raiden, more on the way. :)

About intros all this will be in the final game?
i think the intros is a nice touch
some intros you make are wrong

the intro between krauser and rugal will be in?(kaiser wave of both)

king and ryo

andy and mai (baby joke) (wedding custome) etc

blue mary and terry

mr big made a special intro whit all the art of fighting chars (kof98) in your mugen mr.big made his special intro whit all the chars

the intro of krauser from the fatal fury 2 he only make it whit fatal fury chars (kof98um) in your mugen he make this intro whit all chars

im only try to make a little help to your great proyect  :D

They're Chinese, and he didn't want to use Bao, Momoko, or Chin.

Special intros are open to interpretation.  Note that I am trying to avoid sprite rehashing when possible.  And just because something is in an official game, doesn't mean it made sense in here.  The Kaiser Wave intro doesn't work in KOFE for example because Rugal's wave would get eaten up by Krauser's.  Mai and Andy and King and Ryo are official intros.  Mr. Big's stick twirl is hardly "special".  etc...  Of course you can always change the intros when you download the game to whatever you'd like. :)

Look at the teams this way: If I pulled Xiangfei or Lee (or both) and put them on another team, who would take their place?  I have 60 characters that I've chosen to be in KOFE, they all need to be fitted on a team somehow.

Well yea, but I watched Akira after I heard K-four-9 is Akira's main character "Rip off" and Nameless would be greater as Garou:MOTW character, he just doesnt fit into KOF for me.

That Ryuhaku sprite shading almost looks like a kof twist on MVC3 shading lol. Seems kinda dark, but that can be tweaked with palettes though.

Keyboard's always harder to play.  Although this kinda stuff probably belongs in the feedback section.

Those who want Hwa in the game, I'm not promising anything at this point, but he and Duck may end up as boosters along with Silver.  Oswald is also a possibility.

I have some thoughts about the rosters that i wanted to share :)

I think raiden or John should be removed and Mary should be in the team instead ( Mary keeping an eye on the outlaws since she is an agent )
[Xiengfei fills her place in the Women fighting team] or [ Put another female fighter in like ( Hinako-Malin-Momoko... etc. )]
and Maybe instead of my first thought John crawley joins the upstarts team ( and Mary fills his slot ) , and Gato joins the Physco soldiers team to watch over his little sister ... ( Gato goes in Xiengfei's place if she fills Mary's place )

Thats all :)

Does it really matter? Mary's going to be in the game anyway, so... what's your point?

Great news!! even if I'm not fan of seeing Nameless in Orochi team (storywide, Goenitz or Yamazaki would fit better)
