Hi, I was thinking of doing a spriteswap for some decent KOFXI character using XIII spritesheet, but I'm curious is this possible since I've heard that modern KOF characters have considerably less number of attacks. Is this true, I would like to start with Mai, just to sure if this will work? Anybody have tried this?

Have you compared her movelist from XI and XIII? I see difference of about 4 or 5 specials and DMs. I'm sure that it'd be the same for other characters.

I've considered doing it myself, but you're gonna have to adjust some anims since XIII obviously has way more frames than old KOF games.

A lot of normal moves have changed as well so you would likely end up with a bunch of mismatched hit boxes and whatnot. In many cases even the body proportions changed considerably.  If it would be possible it's probably more work than it's worth.

Also cases like Kula having her far and close moves completely swapped, and some animations being replaced.  It would be a major hassle IMO.

It could work with maybe 2-3 of them... Iori retains all of his classic attacks oddly enough (even the close standing basics). Also, a lot of the neutral jump basics were added in '99 (most of those of course went missing in XII/XIII); so making them like in '98 wouldn't be too much of an issue (although some of the close basics would be gone of course).

A good number of Mai's attacks were changed, so yeah.
