And the U.S. is different because...?
wow are you serious

What if I am?

kim jong il is going to die soon anyway, and that wouldn't solve the massive problems in NK. china could step in and raise sanctions, basically forcing the north to behave themselves. but neither china nor south korea want a war, or even a destabilization of the NK government, because the cost would inevitably fall upon them. there's already a power struggle going on in north korea, with this attack believed to be the military heads of NK exerting  their authority because they view kim jong-il's son and successor as weak.

After reading this, I can't help but picture that one scene from Team America... A power struggle and a son with no balls. Kim Jong Il so ronery.

You limit yourself so badly when you try to avoid variables. When you get over your fear of the "complexity" of variables, you will find yourself in a better place: A beautiful world where coding is actually fun.

I was refering to the US government's priorities, not the living conditions of the US. The majority of US legislation seems to favor themselves, the miltary, and big businesses over John Q. Public. It may not be exactly like North Korea, but the US isn't a saint either.

well, the comparison is still a stretch. joining the military in north korea is basically the only option a majority of the country has to keep themselves and their families from dying slow, painful deaths due to starvation. there's a pretty good look at north korea's society here :

Assuming you are american, its a pretty insulting comparison towards everyone else, since it downplays the gruesome fate that is dedicated to anyone living in north korea and tries to make the problems of a rich country pass out as being as of much importance as those of a country where there is a dictatorship, its kinda like claiming that nazi germany was the same as the united states now.

Well, but other than that, it seem usa future president supports the north koreans.

She also thinks that the states are ALSO bound by prudence to south korea.

The reason no one has took them over is because they have nothing. The natural resources of NK are nil.

That is why they are trying bully everyone. They can't make anything, so the only way they can improve is to extort resources from other places.

Meanwhile, China is using NK the same way the Russians did during the first war. A place to have a fake war with the USA. The retarded part is... We don't even sanction china because they hold our debt.

Which we use to build more weapons to fight China by fighting NK and threaten Iran who supplies China, and fight in Afghanistan

Oh the cold war... When will you really fucking end.

Three awesome posts. Summed up exactly what I wanted to say.

I'm not sure where you were going with the latter half of your post.
Anyway, don't underestimate the Head Kims in Charge. They actually have both China and South Korea by the throat because if their government actually does collapse, refugess will start to pour across the borders causing all kinds of economic and social problems. If you think China receives criticism for human rights violations today, wait until you see what both they and South Korea will stoop to  in order to “protect their borders.” [Insert US-Mexico analogy here]
I honestly wonder what effect that would have on China’s allegedly “booming” economy.
LOL, Caddie's the man!! ;)

I'm as real as the runnin, I just happen to rap, Nigaas London, Japan, and i'm scared of dat tap.

I suggest extending my banning, cuz when I come back, it's gonna be hell. You think I was annoying before, oh man, it's on now :)

south korea has absolutely nothing to gain from taking over the north, since the cost of rebuilding the north would be astronomical as is.

just tease them enough to make their fingers itch on the atomic bomb, and see how they accidentally blow their selves. making a nice lake and mutated creeps safari land
