Zero's face is really, really weird, but other than that it's top notch.
God Rugal's eyes are all red btw, not that it matters.

Ink thx for working on vega , am going to use traditional frames , the idea of flash is a bit mess up, I would have to redraw it in flash, and there only a few people I know that can use flash as if it where Photoshop.  Al be right back  gota to get some beers

Here is another shot at HD ggx, which was really, big
The Big one is the actual size that I had to draw Zappa
The second one was scaled so it could fit in to the stage
And the smallest one is obviously a normal ggx sprite


As for the first one I really liked it. It was like painting and actual anime cell
I first started the out line then painted under it. As I reduce the size to fit the HD proportions
The sprite got a bit blurry, but if I was to leave it in the actual size and let a game engine render it
You know like what mugen does for the sprites of GGX the you have to scale it to 0.5 and the sprite looks nice and crisp. So the same thing would happen to the big sprite I made and it look real nice and sharp.
I know this because I zoomed out in PhotoShop AT 50% the cell type sprite. This simulates how it would render in a game engine. 


If I knew how to draw anime style I would make a whole character in anime cell size.

This is definitly what you would call eyecandy. Good job on all the HD sprites so far. Maybe you should rename your thread to somethin like "Kronos' HD Works"

i love it! what program did you say you were using? does it allow you to resize stuff with no problems?

i love it! what program did you say you were using? does it allow you to resize stuff with no problems?

I use Adobe PhotoShop 8 or above , the resize is always blurry , I clean it up and make it sharp, this means I have to re draw the entire frame the resized sprite is like a guide. There is no easy way out


process


first frame resized sprite 4 times its size or scaled up using the ken HD sprite as reference
or multiply the hight  by "4.5" way I use 4 I dont know  :S
second frame is a rough lay out to know where the colors go

third frame is refinement

forth frame adding shadows

specifics classified  (practice)  ;)

you have to copy the picture to your pc to see the bigger picture or open the link in the refrence section

this was my tutorial as you can see in the page the are no written steps just a plain picture
as seen in the picture Long Vo uses a type shading that’s crisp not blended like mine. I guess
the reason for this is when they convert the art to a sprite. The colors will keep there consistency and for proper render.

Here is the cyber Dan thing , not to happy about it since its a custom sprite
try using the original Alpha base sprite but his face looked like POPEYE so I end it up using
a cvs sprite of Dan





only two more request left Juggy and Cammy

Anyway, this Cyber Dan is very very nice. Some red on the pants go outside the outlines, but it could be defined as "high-def style". :)
You could try to give more details to his toes too.

Wow, you make me want to actually play with Dan....almost. The effects on the eyes are a nice touch.
