So I'm wanting to make some characters, and some general sprites to use in place of photos for my online persona (e-safety and all that).
Could anybody direct me to a good place to learn spritework (tutorials, guides and the like), if possible geared towards learning something similar to mvc2 style sprites as that seems like a nice solid style to start with? As for MUGEN, if I get good enough, I might start seeing what I can make in other styles, maybe see what I can contribute in z2 as that has produced my favourite characters so far and I pretty much want to follow on and help it grow.

Thanks for taking time out to read this and I hope I have made sense.

If you dont have a solid handle on animation first, i suggest checking this out :

( you can probably get the book online)

Sprites im sure there are others better equipped to give you directions on that. :)
