Let's all request that in their forums.

If MUGEN had netplay, the interest would jump over nine thousands, don't you think?

The only (and big) problem is it would require the exact same builds, chars and stages  :-\

Seriously though, I'm sure everyone would like to be able to play Mugen online..but I'm sure it would be much harder to do then most people think, at least I assume so.

Until then, play fighting games with other people via Mame or something, I dunno.

Netplay code did exist at some point... having seen what horrors came from the attention gotten from YouTube videos, it was deemed that letting this code fall into public hands would have disastrous results; a small group saw to it that all but one physical copy of the code was eliminated, and that single physical copy was buried under cement at an undisclosed location within the Greater Toronto area, with the only physical marker being a faint ".\/." placed around one corner of the burial site that is mostly obscured in shadow...

Yeah, that rule kind of applies to anything in life that has "great potential". Netplay in general has awesome potential, but it also had that negative aspect which involves little 10 year olds cursing online, using shitty tactics to win, etc.

So yes, if Mugen had netplay, we'd have such a clusterfuck of shit. We'd have OROCHI ONLY CHARZ!!!111 servers, totally unbalanced "tournaments", and God knows what else. I agree with you all in that aspect.

But it would be nice to be able to play Mugen online with people I know, rather then lurking on servers looking for a "challenge". There would be some good to come out of it.

plus netplay would lag depending on your connection, so even if it was set up it'd be pretty worthless ;P

This is why we need a Tree House. If we had a Tree House then we could all meet up there at night and just hang out for some Mugen and Kool Aid. We don't need netplay..just a laptop with Mugen, a pitcher, the mix with sugar, and some dixie cups!

realistically speaking about netplay: it is not a priority to elecbyte. i would say they want to get the engine running as stable as possible and with the features they had in mind. only then would they think about netplay

as a comparison, stepmania got netplay after it was stable enough. you could not play with other people unless they had the same songs and steps. as a way to solve this, the community encouraged people to download "packs". most of the songs in the pack were really hard and not very well designed. it was still cool to play well-designed files with your friends, though. something similar would happen with mugen.

pestering elecbyte about it will not accomplish anything, however.

I didn't break any rule, I made a valid topic, however controversial it may be it's not against the rules. Others on the other hand broke the first rule "be nice, treat other with respect" they insult me and it's my fault? I think I will have a PM talk with admins. Sorry.

Try reading it a bit better then please. I'm not asking you to stop posting. I'm asking you to think. We can't go round banning everyone who disagrees with you or this forum would contain you and the mods. And that'd suck. We can't actually STOP people from posting the comments either as they'd do it before we noticed. However we can ask you to stop posting threads that might become inflammatory and request that you post in a more general fashion for a while until people don't care so much about you and ignore your threads instead of trolling you.

We can't ban you if you don't choose to do that, but you're going to have to live with being baited, cos it's what will happen and there is nothing anyone can actually do about that.

I would rather netplay on an actual fighting game. At least  I don't have to worry about getting beaten due to a wtf b roken character with unblockable fullscreen OHKOs.

imo netplay would be nice if it was made so that the matches are only between people who know and trust each other
