ThatIdahoGuy said, September 06, 2014, 03:56:34 amIt's definitely getting there. I'm still seeing remnants of the old face in the jumping off the leaf animation. What do you mean? Do you think the old face needs to be modified? I can work on that if it's the issue. They're pretty much the exact same sprites as the old one, I just added shading, and small fixes to the green tunic.
I saw in a few of the frames what looked like the original face that was on the old versions of the sprites. They may be the touched up ones in disguise, but I could be wrong.
Okay well here's all the frames from the current intro jump and the old basic jump. Maybe this will help you see whatever is bothering you.
As much as I'd love to be lazy and use this hunched down sprite, I had to admit that I didn't feel this is how Link would look when he pulled out his blade. Most games have him standing in a more upright position, before he gets in his battle stance. But none of AxKeeper's sprites have Link standing straight. So I made this custom sprite.
SuperGohanSunderland said, September 11, 2014, 01:18:14 amSo I made this custom sprite...Which looks very good. Now the only thing you have to fix is the shading on his right boot and on his "skirt", then you get a great sprite!
Thanks man! Trying to follow your advice. How's it looking? The skir-err..I mean tunic is a bit tricky shade. I'm looking at the other sprites for reference.
Frankenspriting can only take you to a certain point, then you need to make edits, otherwise it's easy to see what pieces you cut and paste. Also, I fixed the shading on the boots, assuming the lightsource is from above, but I honestly don't know anymore...The shield doesn't receive light, so I darkened it.His right boot (our left) seems bigger than the others in other sprites.
