• Work.  For a good while I was working 56 hours a week, now I work 50 which is better, but it is all at my home computer, so mugen feels like actual work a lot of the time. 
• Vindictus, for a long time, but I'm mostly quit (for the third time).  I slipped up back in June/July.   
• Wifey, but in a good way.  We're currently playing through Hyrule Warriors together.   
• My gaming backlog. 
• Project "senioritis" I guess is the best word.  I'll get to the end of something and stop working on it.  Often because a new random idea came into my head that is now the best one ever, just like the last one used to be. 

Well, this topic is called "List 5 reason you don't complete your wips", so that's to be expected.

1.) I don't get paid for the work I do.
2.) I get pissed off because I don't get paid for the work I do.
3.) Laziness due to not being paid for the work I do.
4.) Angriness at mugen for pissing me off sometimes more than my job... which I get paid to do.
5.) More interesting things come up, making me get side-tracked from mugen.

To be perfectly honest though, I'd rather make characters and work on NZCR all day than have to deal with the idiots I have to work with...

• Too busy with IRL aspects of my life (MUGEN has about 10% of my attention)
• I code something that's either too difficult or too tedious and I get burned out faster (Dragon Tank so far is basically a series of burnouts for me)
• Somebody rips off stuff I talk about doing in chat (shakes fist at Neo-Kamek's Sailor Jupiter)
• Iced asks me to do something crazy like give Gato a move where he shoots cats out of his hands, or code a stage pulled from a Google Image Search, or even make an entirely new character like MSPaint Godzilla or Rare Felicia or some other RRRRRRRRANDOM idea
• There was this one time I stopped working on a character I wanted to do (King Dedede) because Kung_Fu_Man basically bullied me and pressured me into halting it, and eventually it stopped being fun making the character and I took it out behind the woodshed and shot it. The reason? He wanted to make his own King Dedede, and now everyone in MUGEN is playing with Kung_Fu_Man's community-changing vision of King Dedede. Boy am I glad I folded.

Ah yeah, the Crystal Labyrinth from Gradius III. It's been several years now, but I still remember putting a lot of effort into that stage. Not as much as I did for Akuma, but it was still pretty intense, especially since I knew less about Mugen coding back then.

Smoke is what we call "completely off his rocker".

Pretty much every post of his is like that.

1) SPRITING -- a lot of you guys are lucky enough to be both artists and programmers. Love programming, can't do art, especially not 200+ sprites of them

3- people still end up insulting you even after all the time you spent working on something for their entertainment ( justask most mugen creators about it )

4- not getting the result you hoped for in the end

5-nothing profitable (if your talking about mugen project , and anything else still count if the past points are relevent in them)

5. Why are you talking about money? It's a hobby! It would be like Jmorphman complaining that he's not getting paid for assembling all of his Gundam figurines, or like Iced complaining about not getting paid for watching cartoons for little girls.

Ignoring the fact that you're making something you think *other* people want, I've found that despite how shitty I've been outside of MUGEN creation, I've never had people insult me for making something. Feedback yes, but insults, never. Except for Sol_Badguy_Z but as has been shown in the past, he's one can short of a six-pack so whatever.

4. I don't understand how this is possible. If you REALLY want something to work, you'll keep going at it until you're satisfied and it's what "you hope for." Granted if you hope for something that the engine can't handle, then yeah, but other than that...

why are you comparing me to someone who gets mad just caz people aren't making him what he wants for free? when I want someone to make me something I expect myself to be able to give them something in return

I have a few rebuttals.

5. The M.U.G.E.N community's almost completely dead.

I designed the entire MFJ screenpack on my 40" TV and I was sitting on the floor with my mouse and keyboard. Really awkward using Photoshop that way.


I can't even imagine trying to do it from the couch.
