Looking for Coder New Guilty Gear Character

I guess that this is the correct place to post this.

Gig

Anyways, I have been working to rip the sprites of a little known Guilty Gear character.
It's been hard work, but thankfully I'm almost done.

Here's a description:

I ripped the sprites from a little known boss from Guilty Gear Dust Strikers for DS.
The character is a large boss type named Gig.
It has been an absolute bitch.

Working with a DS emulator was a bitch.
SNA files were a bitch.
Sprite editting was...well it was ok, I'm pretty good at it. ;)
Even cleaning the sprites was bitch-esque due to the complexity of the character model.

But even so, I have everything, save a few projs. and effects.

And here's the ugly bastard in motion:

I'd code him myself, but I feel I will have more success if I find a partner in the project.

He is a large flying character. (I've never made a flying character.)
He is mostly projectile based. (I suck at projectiles.)
He has an odd armor and damage system. (I wouldn't know where to start.)

It would be advised to have some knowledge in these areas if you would like to code Gig.

If you would be interested in coding Gig, just PM me.

Cheers, Oz

To describe gameplay a little:
Basic stance is maintained under most conditions.
Gig cannot be thrown.
Has no dizzy or stunned animation.

Gig was roughly 3-4x bigger than the normal sized player.
During play he would fly in a tall clockwise circular motion, with more emphasis on up-down movement.
The upper half of his body counts as armor and can not recieve damage.
Attacks land, but are considered blocked and do not cause guard damage.

The lower half can be attacked normally, but only recieves damage in small increments.
Once a certain amount of damage is dealt, it triggers Gig's dissolve animation and his "soul" is left behind.

The soul is immobile, cannot attack, and cannot block.
The soul can take damage similar to a normal character.

The soul disappears after a few seconds, or immidiately after being attacked.
You can cause more damage by using combos, otherwise the soul will disappear after the first attack.

After the soul disappears, Gig reappears.
You must then deal the amount of damage to his bottom half again to get back to the soul.

Gig attacks with a variety of projectiles.

The most common are small balls a dark energy that he firs from the holes on his side.
Some fly straight, others will home in on the target.
Rapid fire is also possible.
Hypers include 2 variations of a large dark energy ball.
One varistion travels a certain distance from Gig before exploding and sending about 8 energy balls in all directions.
The second form will home towards the target. If it hits the target it, it sticks. Likewise, if it doesn't find the target after a few seconds it will become stationary. After 5 seconds it begins shooting energy balls in a circular motion at a rapid pace for about 3 seconds.

Gig can also breath fire,
He opens his mouth, and out comes the fire.
Simple.
Projectiles can't travel through the fire.
Fire will probably be one button.

Gig has a basic teleport.
When used, plays the dissolve animation, identical to the one played when the soul becomes exposed.
Gig then quickly reappears behind the opponent.

Acid bubble projectile
Rise up from the ground or fall from the ceiling.
Ground version rises at a moderate rate before popping.
Ceiling version falls slowly before popping.
Pops on impact with player and causes damage.

For an interesting addition, perhaps an effect similar to Abyss' bubble attack could be added.

Snake striker
One move that I haven't gotten a screenshot of.
But I have seen it.
Is clearly an edit of one of Dizzy's attacks.
I'll probably just take it from Dizzy.
A worm-like creature comes up from the ground and causes damage.

Those are the basics.
I'll post more as requested or when I think of it.

How much can you code yourself? I can see a way to do all of that stuff, and it looks interesting. I would be willing to collaberate and do the harder bits and pieces to get you moving. Unwilling to set up the .sff or .air file though.

btw, why sna files? Animget, must simpler. Saves a bmp every 10ms if the shot has changed. I mean, sure, you still have to clean it, but getting all the pictures is decently fast.

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

Oz, to answer your question which is long overdue because I was taking a break: I'll consider taking the case, but I need to see what all you have in terms of files to work with.

Of course I'll set up .sff and .air.

I wouldn't expect anyone to do that for me.

And sna because I didn't know that it would save screenshots in sna format.
Had I known, I wouldn't have bothered.
I've set up my own system using something Anjel suggested, and so far it's worked.

I've cleaned several more projectiles, which I will post momentarily.
I am in the process of cleaning the dissolve animation, 3 of 7 frames are cleaned.

Oz have you checked to see if there's a means to rip and assemble the tiles instead? I used that method for ripping Kirby stuff from the last game, though the difficulty and means depends on the game too...
