YT's mugen community is awful and I don't really know why people are sad about it going away. It means less adjective edit videos.

I tried to make some videos about telling a story or making challenges with sense, like my "Green Lantern Yuki" series and "Eric vs Shotoklones" series, respectively. But mainly I made videos as previews of my characters, that's all.  Also
nonetheless the mugen youtube community dying is nothing to mourn about

Nobody's talking about the Youtube Mugen community as a whole though. Otherwise we would all agree that all Mugen videos are shit.

all this talk of moojin storylines reminds me of long ago when i was planning on a video series that would be parodying gf202020202020's godawful r-team videos where i'd use evilslayerx5's characters who would fight teams of random pointless characters in their goal to beat up the team of four rugals and then inadvertently save the world from terrible animu characters (or drowin) by winning through glitches or infinites

nonetheless the mugen youtube community dying is nothing to mourn about
Still didn't beat GigaBowserX's series wherein he made a series of dramatic reenactments of... YTM forum flamewars between users (which was basically stuff like Ampchu crying about people fighting Haruhi, and retaliating by fighing their favorite charas whilst calling them broken). On paper it sounds hilariously awesome, but GBX was megaserious about it and the first episode was Guile getting killed (by the storyline, mind you) by a loli with a sword, and Kamek's Reiko becoming a main character.

If I could, I'd do a Guild version wherein Navatsea and RicePigeon create the Westboro Fighting League and Jmorphman/Bia/MgBenz team up to stop them.

Its all about live streams now...

Gonna try and get a live stream going at either next level arcade or deadly bison entertainment in NY.

I remember alexlexus was trying to do that before- dunno what happened. I remember way way back I went to China Town Fair and got handed to by people that play SF3 on the regular. Maybe again since they're opening CTF back up.

It would probably be easier to do in California- for now I'm just going to crash tournament events in NY.

Most of the mugen videos are boring nowadays anyway.

If I could, I'd do a Guild version wherein Navatsea and RicePigeon create the Westboro Fighting League and Jmorphman/Bia/MgBenz team up to stop them.

.... can I ask why?

You limit yourself so badly when you try to avoid variables. When you get over your fear of the "complexity" of variables, you will find yourself in a better place: A beautiful world where coding is actually fun.

Well, I know that I've done everything possible in terms of MUGEN videos (Lots of AI fights, team battles, AI tournies, even a couple of bad storylines that never got finished). The only thing left is for me to actually play with some of the characters I use, and even then no one really wants to see someone half ass their way through a match, right?

Methinks its the oversaturation of team battles, AI tourneys, and flashy overpowered characters that ruined Mugen videos. And as far as team battles are concerned, I think its safe to say that at least 90-95% of them consist of characters that the person in question doesn't even know how to play as, characters that are shit, picked those characters simply because they either like them or because they have a good enough AI to hold their own against other AI, or some combination of the three.

I think MC2 also hit the nail on the head. Nobody in their right mind would upload a video of them losing to an AI (the swarm of "you suck noob" comments that follow is another story altogether), so the element of surprise is lost. Of course if they were losing and made a comeback at the end then yeah it would work, but the surprise is still ruined because you know that person's going to win.

I know that I made a video in which I lost in three different matches against the AI and I haven't gotten the so-called 'swarm' of you suck comments yet (probably because my videos tend to be very low key, if anything)

That one thread about the Miss Universe Pageant. WITHOUT GOING INTO TOO MUCH DETAIL SINCE IT WAS A THROWAWAY JOKE

Now i'm getting nostalgic for when Kung_Fu_Man tried his hand at making Youtube MUGEN vids and they were pretty darn bad. One was a failed start about a series based on his very SERIOUS fanfiction based on KFM's storyline (Suave Dude kills his girlfriend... For some reason???) wherein he fought Juli+ (forgot how she tied in the story, but she had no AI so the fighting was boring) with no sound recorded and some generic rock song playing too loud over it.

Then he jumped on the Ampchu bash bandwagon and he did the exact opposite of the last vid by recording only SFX and not having any music.

If there were more combo videos with quality characters I would actually watch them.
But mugen videos tend to suck. There are only a hand full of videos and uploaders worth watching, and thats only if you're in the mood.

Blame the shitty EVE videos with the poorly made and broken characters using ear rape.
