Jmorphman said, July 31, 2012, 07:47:49 amI was really worried that Parker Posey's character was gonna jump in that final scene because the episode was almost over and Louie never wins romantically. But then... nothing bad happened. He won.yay EDIT: so everyone seems to think Parker Posey's character is crazy and throwing off warning signs? I don't see it. EDIT2: "To respond to something you wrote below- going from seeing your date give a homeless guy a pickle to forcing him to buy ridiculously expensive medication and put him up in a hotel for the night is not "non-normative kindness", but sociopathic, extreme behavior."are you fucking seriousYOU JINXED IT!!! >= ( for shame Jmorph. For SHAME.Edit- That scene with the guy doing tai chi with him was hilarious. A gif of that would be awesome.
Titiln said, September 28, 2012, 08:57:54 pmthat episode was fucking depressingOn the other hand, Amy Poehler as Louie's sister!!!
Can't wait 'til next year? Tough luck, Louie isn't coming back until 2014! And yes I know what everyone's thinking:Obamaalso this is neat
So Louis CK was on Saturday Night Live yesterday and was in this parody mashup of Louie and that Lincoln movie. It's pretty funny. The monologue he did was also good, the rest of the show (besides the Fox and Friends correction list) was pretty meh otherwise.
Watching two episodes a week is gonna be tough; I feel so emotionally drained after two in a row!I kinda want Jerry Seinfeld in every episode, scowling at Louie's every action.
i'm catching up on the latest 4 episodes. i wish the show was funnier overall, because after looking at his standup and his past o&a appearances i know louis ck can be really fucking funny when he wants to. the parts that aren't funny are still entertaining and interesting, but i wish he put more focus on funny shitthen again sometimes i think the show strikes that balance between funny and not trying to be funny, so the funny stuff becomes funnier when it happens. i don't think i would like it if the show was 100% funny lines either. it's hard to explain
Season 4 is weird. Every time I've watched the show it's been hilarious, but with season 4 starting with the episode where he Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyloses his daughter on the subway and then the arch where he's in love with a woman who doesn't speak english, it's just not funny. Louie is one of the only shows on tv that still makes me laugh and I don't really know what he's going for with the last couple of episodes.
I think the show is still outstanding and easily one of the best TV shows ever, but there's definitely a lower emphasis on comedy with the last 7 episodes. Those last 7 episodes all been a multipart episode called Elevator (except the last one that aired this week, it was the start of a multipart episode named Pamela), and the focus on drama stuff has basically been constrained to them (Back, Model, and So Did The Fat Lady all felt like the first three seasons to me); I think Louis C.K. just wanted to try something new with these arcs and I'm totally digging it, even with the shift in genre. And even then, Pamela Part One had a much heavier comedic bent (and also, I am so glad Pamela Adlon is back!)
it's by no means bad television, because it's still entertaining, but then i remember all the funny shit louis has done and kinda wish i was seeing more of that instead
I feel the same way, kinda, I dunno. I like what he's doing but wanna see some more straight comedy episodes, I guess. Here's a video with all of Amia's lines, subtitled in Englishand apparently Philip Seymour Hoffman was gonna guest star in one episode, it would've been great, this sucks.
oh yeah it should be obvious that the part when he forced himself on pamela caused an internet shitstorm
Just saw this: it turns out Louis C.K. stole those scales in real life, recounted here back in the live show days of Comedy Death Ray/Comedy Bang! Bang!
