  • Now your gonna feel my hooks! OH YEAH!!
Anyone read and like this manga? Currently it's getting very good with the fight scenes (which is all I read it for) but it has some fan service  --; otherwise, I read this just as much as Naruto. The anime sucks though. lol

I read the first few chapters, and the story was incredibly lame, with not a single likable character. And whatever happened to reasonable use of hyperbole --;

I read it because it has "cammy", afterwards I only kept on reading it because of the fanservice, as the plot became a pretty lame beat up enemy, he now becoems a friend" thing, the involmenet of the masters became even worse. I still reccomend tenjo tenge as the best fighting manga.

Yes, it's a pretty lame manga... I have read something like 10 volumes, but couldn't resist more...it's no good!

Tenjo Tenje and Though FTW.

the fights are good, the outcomes not so much, I like that they use different martial arts, even if they were not very creative with them.

i don't like tenjo tenge, too much fanservice.

IMO holyland is the best fighting manga, since it relies on *mostly* realism in the fights and showcases various real fighting styles.

I stopped reading Tenjou Tenge a long time ago specifically because the author doesn't know what the hell he's doing. The story is all over the place and makes no sense what so ever, even more so after the flashback. The art on the other hand is incredible.

Maybe the story is a little bit more complex, it's not a shounen... But I know the story makes sense, at least to me seems pretty clear.

Shounen has nothing to do with it. The story, as I last read it, felt loosely cobbled together is all.

if compared to toehr martial arts series the history is probably the most complex, this being a seinen series so it does not surprise me that you did not udnerstand it properly, especially after you missed some points on the naruto plot that byakko explained to you.

anyway, the latest tenjo tenge chapter makes me quite happy, since the ending got cancelled and it will last another while; hopefully that marks the start of stage of the series in a similar manner to gantz.

Is this true?  Where I can read about it?

manga translation just released it; it's a double chapter but the second part is just an omake that happens before the tournament.

Ah, condescension: the backbone of any modern forum.
Look, I read plenty of Seinen Manga, Comics, and lots of actual books and one thing that always bugs me is when people see a convoluted plot for one that is well written. I understood what Byakko said, I just didn't agree. The author simply didn't sell Sasuke's plight well enough for me.

@Chosen- why didn't you like the anime. It's how I got turned onto this manga.

You never said convoluted , you specifically said that it does not make sense, which it does; you just have to put the pieces together.

I just like a certain style of anime and it felt a little dated. Probably because I watched the manga first too. :P

I started reading it (currently at 17 chapter) and I'm not liking it. It's like a fighting manga for women. Or those who doesn't know a glimpse about fighting. Realism? Not really. (Oh, I see you said *mostly*. It's ok, then) And that manner in which author speaks of his experience on his behalf... I find it ruining the atmosphere.

My vote goes to Baki or Garouden.

Oh, and I enjoyed Kenichi (the anime). Liked the characters.

some korean shoujo mangas have more realistic fighting because of the jangs, hell, hot blooded woman form the romance topic has got more interesting fights than the typical shounen.

to me the most realistic martial art manga is Shura No Mon, the drawing is not that great but really captured the intense of the motions.
