Thanks.Yeah I like to just provide the original BGM (when converting stuff) and let people pick something better if they want.
You know something? I actually delayed my MGS Screenpack because I was unable to rip the thing myself. What did I want to rip, you ask? yes, exactly the Background you used.

Oh wow i love this stage but metal gear original stage; this makes me want to go back to my original mgs for ps1 and play it Also get MGS 2D Old Nes One get the VR training background sprite similar to the first one just tile it and it may look way better you may have to use photoshop to use colorbalance or use hue settings for a better blue.
ziltama said, March 04, 2008, 07:01:44 amWas the original floor transparent? No.Quotecan we expect a Ryu with OMGP.I.HADOUKEN!!1!1! effects next?I've had P.I. for years now , though as it usually takes a great deal of frames to produce something decent (and in the case you mentioned, editing originals > P.I.) I tend to stay away from it. Think there's only one P.I. effect in my chars.QuoteAlso get MGS 2D Old Nes One get the VR training background sprite similar to the first one just tile it and it may look way better you may have to use photoshop to use colorbalance or use hue settings for a better blue.A NES sprite potentially better than one from PSX? I might still get back to this stage to add some vertical cubes... though I'm not sure the effect justifies the effort (less is more, don't want it cluttered.
Make a hires version with them leave this one without it may look better in hi res and make the stage a little bigger in HiRes.FTW The floor looks like you edited stage zero's Ah you actually ripped the background sprite i think its the screenshot :/ looks a bit odd on my pc then again it may be my lcd monitor it tends to have color loss on some things.
Just tried it out. Brilliant work as always P.O.T.S!I can't wait for somebody to Edit a Solid Snake Character...Metal Gear is my favorite series.
BigBoss said, March 04, 2008, 02:49:36 pmAh you actually ripped the background spriteDrawn in Paint with screenshot as reference for colors (drawing a square = challenge ).QuoteMan now we just need a "on top of Rex" Stage...That actually sounds feasible. One could easily make nice stages from the game if there was some tool to manipulate the game's camera or extract textures (so you can rip every wall as 2D).
Ok Ive gotta say, This is a Really COOL Stage! When I First Played it I used one of my Favorite KOF Characters O-Adel and set the BGM to AYA's Theme from parasite eve (it Totally went along with the futuristic background) and its well done for a Stage thats less than 500 KBs too! Im using The Ultimate KOF98 Lifebars along with the Coruscation Screenpack (im also using a Really Cool Stage from your Site called Mittelbirge with the BGM The-Time-Has-Come from Devil May Cry 4) Overall, I Say Well done!
Yeah, tried out this stage, it rocks, as everybody said. I love the intro ! *Not a request* : since you're so much into "let's make old school stuff" right now, I'd suggest making a Guardian Heroes stage.

I was actually fooling around with the game just a couple of days ago , maybe. I don't recall any stage being much impressive though, it'd be just for that sentimental value.

Yeah, thinking about it, I can't recall any stage being really awesome. The sentimental value is so strong though. The forest with carnivore plants leading to the hidden training area... Outside the castle with barrels and Ogres then going inside the Castle... the cemetery where Han could gather the mighty sword and get a super experience bonus, making my friends scream "cheater !!!"
