The thing I don't like about this is that this isn't Megaman but a literal clone of him.
I hate that so much that I just can not get hype for this.
inafune basically made megaman, i don't really give a shit if he recycles concepts he came up with. i see this as guitar hero/rock band. rock band heavily lifted ideas from guitar hero, but the rock band developers made guitar hero in the first place so

Wow I expected every single poster in this thread to get hyped or something, instead the game got a 50/50 reception around here so far :(

I'm personally freaking hyped about the game after looking at the staff. Freaking inti creates is behind this and they made the Megaman Zero series and I'll love them forever for that. Best MM franchise in my opinion. Besides I'd rather have this at this point than a new megaman game, this game just can't go wrong, not with such dream team.

I also like how the japanese devs are finally paying more attention to western methods of getting funds like kickstarter (And indie humble bundle being involved in the key sharing process) and having the PC as their main release (Which avoids shit ports).

BTW the game's confirmed to have 3D graphics so far (Will be a "2.5D" game so no 3D movement). I think this is the point where we'll see how serious megaman fans are about wanting more MM games. if this game doesn't get funded then Capcom is totally right about ignoring the megaman franchise.

this basically, well, except for the third part cuz I don't give a shit about what a person thinks if they're not hype for this work of art

oh and the ports part cuz fuck you I need a ps3 port
i cant count the reasons i should stay

one by one they all just fade away...

Its like

Someone has a good idea, and creates something good with the funds of a company.

The company mades a ton of funds in return for many years

After a few not so well received creations and some spinoff ideas which were also not very successful, the company does not use the idea for new products which use modern technology.

The creator of the idea leaves the company.

The company is still not using the old idea anymore while multiple fans and fan communities create unofficial new and free products which are tolerated or even supported by the company

The creator sees that there is demand by fans to continue the old idea and he sees a way to create a new product but needs funds again. Instead of working for another company, he has his own little company now and tries to get the funds by the fans themselfes,

Until HHH goes straight for the papers.

While I do see the designs being a tad unoriginal (Why are those female bots just blatantly Roll and Iris), I am excited to see this game come into fruition.

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

You can even see the girl who was going to appear in MML3 there lol. The whole game is a tribute to megaman (Even though it has the creator of the series himself behind it) so of course they had to look like girls from the megaman series.

Hey, you buy a game that's the same game every year but with different textures and two more scripted events, we may as well buy a megaman that's not megaman at all :)

HURR DURR CALL OF DUTY IS A COPY AND PASTE JOB EVERY YEAR EVEN THOUGH I'VE NEVER TOUCHED A CALL OF DUTY GAME.

It's going to play like Classic Megaman just like all of the other Megaman clones out there, isn't it?

PASS.

lol, you might as well pass on all the videogame sequels being released since forever.

Yea, fuck me for hating the most obsolete version of the blue bomber.

I read the project page and it just means that Inafune is definitely going to be using Classic Megaman style for his new game.

Inafune mentioned he was going for a classic style sidescroller game in the project video which means he wants to go back to Classic Megaman jumping and shooting.
He's going to use fan feedback to help develop the game. A great idea, but the fans will manipulate him as much as they can to have the game play....like Classic Megaman.
The popular doujin Megaman clones(Megamari, Rosenkreuzstillete, Rokko chan) all used the same gameplay style....classic Megaman.
Even the fan games that actually use Megaman (SFxMM, Megaman Ultimate) went with Classic Megaman.

I hate to admit it, but Inafune would be crazy to not make his game play more like Classic Megaman since that's the style people everywhere want the game to fucking play like.

Fuck X series, Fuck Zero series, Fuck ZX series. Let's make it classic series style because our fans have their nostalgia goggles glued to their faces even though the other series styles are SO MUCH BETTER than classic style.

Me? I fucking hate Classic style Megaman. Call me when there's an X/Zero/ZX series styled Megaman (clone).

Send me a PM if you decide to add me on PSN, so I don't mistake you for a random Friend whore.

I'd like to know what, according to your definition, the difference is between Classic and X style or even Zero style, and what in this project description let you know it wouldn't have those differences.

I meant the fans with that who want new MegaMan games, not Keiji
Yes, it's completely thanks to our perseverance and nothing else that we finally get what we want. It's not because the guy who created the games we love happens to think the same and has actually decided to go with it. It's only because he heard us, without us he wouldn't have done anything. Hell, without us, he would be nothing. We the people decide what these guys do for us to buy.
He's doing it because he has the balls to do what he loves, and we're lucky enough that it happens to be also what we want. You wouldn't say that if it was a shitty project that the maker still wanted to carry through and keep making (he'd still have money thrown at him so don't say his kickstarter would fail).

For example, his limbs might become giant magnets, enabling him to walk up walls or rip away enemy shields... Or maybe extendible spring-loaded hands would allow him to activate far-away switches or work as a grappling hook... Or he could have a tank-like body, easily crossing over spikes and pushing objects around the levels... These are just a few possibilities we’re considering (the game is still in the design phase), but you get the idea!

And it’s not only killing bosses that gets Beck new powers. Taking out other enemies with a certain weapon, or hitting them in their weak spot, can expose one of three types of “xel” (pronounced “cell”) energy Beck can sap (if he’s quick enough), store, and unleash later via his own Mighty Skills! Give yourself a double-jump and speed boost for a limited time, unleash a concentrated flurry of powerful punches directly ahead, or set off a blast that hurts everything on the screen!
yeah this sounds like all the classic megaman games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol he said obsolete

this is literally one of the most important versions of "megaman" ever because its both the brainchild of and created directly by the creator of megaman himself

also when he says classic he means not megaman x7 or x8 aka the 3d ones that deviated away from the classic sidescrolling elements, as in, anything before those two (sans the legends series of course) were classic sidescrollers, as in, it can go the direction of any megaman series (again sans legends) because they are all classic sidescrollers (see also: the new strider a classic sidescroller)
i cant count the reasons i should stay

Uh... they kinda are. No cod for quiet a while has bought an significant evolution to the series.
Shitfit.
Might have something to do with the fact that all the newer versions of megaman (save for EXE and such, which are more like spinoffs) have really just been the classic games with looser controls, more serious of a plot and a load of utterly superficial gameplay additions. In the end it's still the same shoot, jump, dash and fall down a pit lingo trough linear levels that you can do in a nonlinear order. The base gameplay is the thing that works the best about it all, which is why the classic series is remember as the best.

Yeah, that works.

No witty quotes though.

Yeah no, you're full of shit. You have nothing to celebrate if you're just here to say "in your face Crapcom, someone has finally figured out the power that we hold and is going to actually make what we want, because we want it". Your "small men can be champs" was stupid. You don't get credit for this, Inafune does. Try to claim credit like that, get made fun of.
Also don't just claim I write crap without anything to back it up.
