Yh, the shadng is extremely hard! It took me almost 2 hours to do 1 sprite and it dosen't even look much like MK. The only thing we could do is make the MK sprites shaded.I't wouldn't take long but then it wouldn't have an MK feel.And I'll try the Trench coat.Your Sprite looks nice, just change the arms and he's perfect.I'm going to have another attempt with shading.
Okay yeah, I think it's definately the arms but I still feel ify about my pants. I've been hinking maybe scorpion from mk1? If edited correctly I may be able to remove the faded look and turn it into the rest of his cuirass/chainmail armor? Also on some MKP characters the creators got away with the method of shading, especially with black so you might be onto something and can pull it off for sure by those examples. Wouldn't hurt to keep experimenting. It somehow works for Kenshi for MKP

Well, I'm still going to try the MK Shading.Like you said changing the pants would probably be better.The trench Coats going good at the moment.Once we get are final design for the character and everyone thinks its good we can get on with making the other sprites.Should we have a Strong Punch and Strong Kick, or should we just have LP, MP, LK, MK?
That looks good, avoid putting in too much detail, most new MKP characters are simple and easy to edit. I think it could work, the coat looks really good but the legs animation sorta seem too Capcom-ish, most MK fighters move side to side rather than up and down. I think the pants need a change, try using the frames of another character rather than editing a sprite. It's hard to tell but I think that's the somewhat iffy thing about it. Other than that though excellent work and I am amazed you can do scratch work so well.
There was a loss of quality but you get the idea.The actual look non-animatedI didn't really follow the first concept so much but loosely based it on it, I will however try next the concept idea by converting the symbol silver or stone and changing the back to black. As for the fire effect I did my best on what resources I had, if anybody has good flame sprites that can move about below the symbol I'd appreciate that.
I like it, I'll try find some new flame sprites.I'll change the pants.EDIT: I was sketching some ideas on paper and I thought of a story and character roster.What if it was a war of the gods a long time before the MK tournaments.Shinnok was making havok on the earth realm and killing humans and other species for his own pleasure.Raiden would not tolerate this and warned Shinnok what would be to come if he carried on.Shinnok wiped out most of the Reptile race and that enraged the other gods.The gods tried to banish him however, there efforts resulted in near death of Fujin.You Can scrap this if you want just suggesting something. we could do this maybe after this Project?Raiden and Shinnok planned war. Argghhh, Jax is way to hard to sprite. I have to change his pants red then give him black stripes.Wayyy to time consuming! Why dont we make all the sprite customly. So it'll be way easier to make new characters and new versions of charcters. Such as an MK4 Jax.Also maybe you should give Stone a new body as he looks like a ninja.

I thought the parts matched up pretty well to pass up, if it's not that good I'll try again. Thx I do like that Jax its just harder to make the MK4 Pants on it.And give stone The ninja bodies in MK3, maybe?
Okay tried it, the reason i went with MK2 was the front loin cloth was as long as the reference pics and on top of that I thought it would make it less of a clone if it didn't resemble the new ninjas. I will agree that it looks much crisper and even like armor but I can't help it but notice that he loses his size. I think I prefer him tall and intimidating. About your story, I think we can make that happen, but maybe better as cut scenes because a lot of the MK mythologies is left un-portrayed and most other stuff a mystery. It is true Reiko - Shao Kahn's general was lost in a war; Reptile's people almost went extinct; Shinnok was a banished god, it be awesome to see all of that, especially how Shao Kahn became ruler or better yet his rise to power. Even seeing Kung Lao ancestor of Liu Kang dying at the hands of Goro.

Arrghhhh I quit.... These sprites are tooooo time consuming.I haven't gone outside for ahwhile cause of this project..Good Luck ArellonX... All you got to do is get another spriter as there's many who are better than me.Sorry Arellon.
