Today, I just finished this portrait for Goku Z2 to go well along some JJBA hypers (not used to this style, but close enough), but then I realized I had no idea how to add it in, so have a sample mock up instead.



Original portrait for who knows how to use it.

@TheSnackist: The thing is, for Dio's hyper, I'm not sure if it the portrait has to be inside Goku or inside Dio (and same goes for Kakyoin's hyper).

When I saw your Goku portrait, I immediately wanted to add it to Goku Z2, and looked into Warusaki3's Dio code.
Unfortunately, the way the super portrait is handled makes it horrible to add. I was hoping that I'd just have to add the portrait with a special animation number, and Dio would then trigger the portrait. Instead :
- I have to add the portrait AND all the sparks and super BG in Goku Z2.
- I have to modify Dio's code so it also triggers against Goku.

It's not worth it. :(

I'll possibly be kind of slow this week, considering I've been having a computer problem in the last few days that has been kind of a pain on getting my PC working again, and I am feeling slightly paranoid about it happening again out of nowhere (since I kind of lost progress due to this issue). Until then, here's a preview of a commission by davismaximus.



Intended to be the MvC3 idle, will still be animated.

Freaking amazing! I didn't compared with other Deadpool's sprites but his legs seems shorter than other sprites, I don't know, as I said I didn't compared them, I'm just saying, btw I love that anim, dude! :)

yeah that's it, MotorRoach yours is better cause its more detailed and probably sprited better, but I like the movement in this other one or maybe its to eccentric.

@Artchell: Yeah, I can see what you mean. What seems to lack to make the animation as jumpy in MvC3 is probably two more frames. I was a bit unsure if it would translate well into the style's animation, but just in case, davismaximus can let me know if he wants an update on the idle.

Also, a lil' filler sprite before I get back to work on Deadpool, just because I love you all.

davismaximus asked me to make a slight update to Deadpool's stance. Added two extra frames, and majorly edited the animation to make him hop more backward, bend the legs a bit more, and feel consistent in general. C+C before I send him the frames.

In case you're wondering, I haven't been able to make progress on most of things in the past month due to many tight deadlines and things I had to work on (and still am working on, actually). I only got more free time this week to work on what I wanted, so the Deadpool animation will be made in hopefully a few days. Sorry for taking so long.

In MVC3 his head is pretty much stationary, so I don't think that's much of an issue.  The only thing I can see is that his head seems a bit too close to his chest.  Otherwise yet another awesome animation, thanks so much for doing these!

Shouldn't his chest/shoulders move opposite to his hips?

Very rough obviously, but some simple cut&paste to get the idea across.

Was just wondering how it would've been like if Rosa appeared in a Capcom vs SNK game. Personally, I think she would've been an interesting choice for the game.

I thought I'd wait until rajaa replied about this animation before I posted it on the thread, but it's been like a week at least since I sent it to him, so here it is for all of you to look at. Big help from Balmsoldier, who made the original sketched animation for Hitmonchan's idle.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I've actually been working a lot on something related to SRB2. Been revamping Sonic for it, and it's been more time taking than I had expected, though I am getting near to done with him. Here are a few screenshots to show how he's been.






As for Hitmonchan, I'm still working on him. I just wanted to get some of his basic animations planned:

WHich software do use to animate. I find animating using paint to be almost impossible(I sprite using paint)

Perhaps redrawing the same parts in the same place (in a bigger scale) should do the trick?
So you scale them down and you have a smooth movement, even if he actually does nothing, or he's breathing... I have no idea honestly.
Or maybe you could make him move like Dudley (since they are both boxers), one arm goes upward, one goes downward:

I think something more subtle would look better. I would just recycle his top half from his standing idle and modify his hands and head to be in the right spots. His body shifting back and forth would look cool if you could get the legs to work with it. Just my thoughts, it could go so many ways and look awesome.

There, made it slower paced and touched up the movement a little to look slightly more subtle.

And to be honest, I want to avoid copying Dudley's animations. I'll only use some of those as reference as long as his movements are more so default to boxing movements.

Does anyone thinks that a lower body movement is even necessary? I did try to go for something quite subtle, so I could hardly imagine the lower body moving at all.

The second one because it moves more. :P You should make the clothes move a bit too.
But... wouldn't it lose balance if it moves like that?

How about you rework the first attempt to have sub-pixel animation in the legs and clothes? I'm sure you can do that since you have a lot of colours available.

Well, I do have quite the commissions already, which is what kept me busy the past few weeks. Though in the free time I had today, I decided to do a quick little edit. Wanted to see how SvC Red Arremer/Firebrand would've looked like with the UMvC3 design:



I'm also thinking about animating his UMvC3 stance some time. Should I use the edited design for that or the SvC one?
