I was posting in the Cars 2 thread and suddenly I realized that for every cookie-cutter sequel that comes out, there are tons of movies that need sequels that don't get them. So in this thread, name some movies that need sequels, and (optionally) give a little bit on how it would work. So here are some my examples:1. Scott Pilgrim VS The WorldLike I said in the thread, it would involve Scott fighting Ramona's good exes. O'Malley hinted that Ramona had non-evil exes in volume five, so it would be neat to see them in the flesh. They would be led by Doug, who Ramona acknowledged as a dick, and would be the leader of a religious cult that's trying to *gasp* take over the world!2. Big Trouble in Little ChinaIt would turn out that Lo-Pan is still alive and immortal due to an evil Taoist priest turning him into Jiangshi (google it), and now he wants revenge on Jack Burton. Egg Shan finds that Mr. Burton is the only one who can take down Lo-Pan, so the two are on a race to find him after his disappearance in the first movie.3. The Final SacrificeTroy finds his father's notes that the Ziox civilization had a rival city that was much more paganistic than its righteous counterpart. Rowsdower meanwhile finds his true calling as a warrior of the Ziox and becomes Earth's only hope against the ancient evil. Plot twist: Pipper backstabs Rowsdower and is the leader of the opposition.
Yes big trouble.Trainspotting, needs to finish the bookForrest Gump, needs to finish the bookThe Devil's AdvocateThe Breakfast Club, John Hughes wrote a sequel but it was never made.Freddy vs. Jason
Big LebowskiWatchmenThe man from earth ( could use a remake) American psycho could use a remake of some sort too.
Actually I would watch a 2012 budget movie based on the book of revelation. It would be one of the best horror movies ever.
Movies don't really need sequels, per se. A really good film should stand up on its own, and not need to be transformed into a franchise. Besides, I think we all know an awesome movie can be spun into a seriously shitty sequel.Especially in the case of adaptations like Scott Pilgrim or Watchmen that have already gone all the way to the end of their source material. Anything after that would have to be made up from scratch by the studio, usually with massive liberties taken to make it more Hollywood friendly, which almost always leads to utter garbage.
I think The Matrix Reloaded was actually decent. And how is The Hangover 2 a seriously shitty sequel again?
It was the exact same movie as The Hangover, except without any of the cleverness, freshness, or new jokes and a healthy smattering of homophobic 'humor.'
Shamrock said, June 28, 2011, 10:10:13 amFreddy vs. Jasondid you never Read Freddy vs Jason vs Ash?anyway this will never happen since they decided that the Comic books are canonOntopic: Snatch, Bullet Tooth Tony is too badass to die
Person Man said, June 28, 2011, 11:22:26 pmMovies don't really need sequels, per se. how would you watch movies like LOTR and StarWars? do you really want to sit half day to watch it in one go. it depends on the material, some movies are just a repetition of the same stuff to cash in money like Final Destination(s)
they are not really sequels. More like movie "serials". I think he means the kind of sequel that was not planned until after the first movie has been made.
Dazed and Confused. I would have liked to see if they could continue the friday movies and bring Chris Tucker back for a newer one, but eh whatever. I agree with Iced on Big Lebowski and Watchmen. I would have liked to see a Warriors Sequel, to what happened after Swan took over as warlord and how he ran the gang. A remake is a bad idea I think though. Also agree with Shamrock when he says The Breakfast Club, loved that movie. ENCINO MAN, BUUUUUUUUUUDY.

Like lolmechy said, some movies can work perfectly fine as serial stories. I just don't think a really good movie should automatically have a sequel just on the merit of being a really good movie.
TempesT said, June 29, 2011, 06:06:11 pmBoy you just suck the fun out of all the threads don't you? Thread fun sucker.I can't help it if I'm just contrarian by nature. But if I have to play along, I would honestly like to see a sequel to Kick-Ass.
on contrary Kick-ass's story is closed, true there is a new villain, but the story of this nobody being super hero itself is finish by the end of the movie. and the similar idea will feel very old and campy the second time it is usedI also think Matrix was not designed to be a trilogy, because the first movie already has a good ending.

If they do a sequel, they could base it on that.
Navetsea said, June 28, 2011, 11:51:29 amThe Passion of The Christ II : The Second ComingSuper Lol at this ( Thanks Family Guy) Hmm theres 3 movies i would love to make a sequel to.1. A Good Sequel For That Old Street Fighter Movie2. Breakfast Club3. Click 2 ( a Funny but sad Movie)
I'm actually with personman and lolmechy. No more fucking sequels. The market has been inundated with piles of mediocre sequels. They're not even trying anymore. The viewers need to draw the line.
The Grinch 2: How Everyone Really, Really Wanted Them To Give Them A Second Christmas, But When They Did It Kind Of Sucked And They Wished They Had Just Left Well Enough Alone
the warriors, mostly because there's a lot of gangs i'd like to see in action that weren't really doing anything in the actual moviei understand there's like 2000 gangs in the movie's story but i wanted to see the pimp gang fight damn it
no there was just a weird resurgence in popularity in the early mid 00s like with a few other 80s movies (scarface etc) they did make a video game tho and a special edition dvd or some shit which is probably what youre referring to
Shamrock said, July 02, 2011, 11:45:09 pmDidn't they remake the Warriors and nobody went to see it?Nope, the movie was remade... but in a videogame by Rockstar Games (the creators of GTA series)EDIT: Hey Melvana!!
- A real goddamn ong bak sequel (that third one was utter shit to me)I like matrix reloaded till about halfway then it went downhill
I checked it and I was right.http://starseeker.com/2011-movies/warriors-2011/IMDB has it too, but this film is in development so you need to have pro to get the details. I think it will suck.
