I did a MS paint version of Megaman X. In my opinion, it's near perfect, and no where near as bad as it could be. I did it 100% in MS paint, no copy/pasting. But, best of all, it's my first try making a videogame sprite. And, sprite edits were never really my thing. I thought they were stupid, and not very creative, so I did something about it when I saw this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q42o4VuvBE8&feature=relatedThere are so many things wrong with the sprite in that video. Not saying mine's perfect, but, he's not a crappy sprite edit over an existing character.I'm going to make animations and things, but, it will take a while to do. I'm not re-doing the sprite, or fixing any part of it, it's good enough as it is. But, is there a quick way to animate him? 21 hours on a single sprite (not at one time) is not really the best thing to do, IMO. I'm planning on creating this into a mugen character, and I know I'll need around 700 sprites, but, I'll try. First thing's first, getting the actual sprites done. Suggestion?
yours is great for original. i didnt see anything wrong with the sprite in the vid. well ok i saw a few things, but it was still good. yeah sprite editing is kinda unoriginal and stupid most of the time, but that wasnt that bad.
the sprite is good, but 21 hours for a single sprite...that's too much time...but practice make the master...

Also, he never bothered to modify the face, it looked like Megaman with X's helmet, and a crappy body. The helmet itself was decent, but, the rest of the body wasn't.nio said, December 12, 2008, 11:55:01 pmthe sprite is good, but 21 hours for a single sprite...that's too much time...but practice make the master... Yeah, I know, I've gotten two ideas to make things faster. Hope they will work when I actually go to try them. I just.. really wanted to do the sprite entirely in MS paint, and I've accomplished that. And, it's damn good for a first try because I didn't rush. I'll try to keep him as different from megaman as venom is from spiderman.Megaman's my second best character in MvC1, so, I'll know if X starts to turn out to be too similar to him. I'm thinking about making his stance in MMMHX is main fighting stance
well, to make things easy, learn the "franken spriting" technique, it's most about of copy-paste, to create new moves (like the beginning of the video, when he takes 2 sprites to make a new one)...of course I mean you make this with your own sprites...
lol, I know that much, but, I have to create the base sprites to reuse the limbs first... . I have nothing to work with right now..
