So I made a little demo for a game that uses mugen 1.1 and it runs fine here and in several other PCs but it doesn't work for a certain person so I would like to know what's his problem:

Quote
I'm having issues opening the demo up, can you assist me with this issue? The error I get reads:
The application has failed to start because of its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

I tried the demo on both of my computers and they have the same error but the newer computer has the one saying about the command-line and the sxstrace.exe, the older one doesn't even mention it. I have re-downloaded it three times, same error. Please let me know what you find out.

I'm using the OpenGL mode for the game, could it be something related to that? I have no idea :P
pls

  • does this look like the face of mercy?
do you have any specifications on those computers? Maybe it has got something to do with the graphic drivers.

OpenGL crashes my mugen 1.1 too unfortunately.
System and DirectX should work just fine...if you are willing to sacrifice the stage zoom in/out

OpenGL is actually required because the character sprites are in fullcolor PNG so that's not a choice for me.

I got a reply from insanius, I'll see if this works for the person with the problem. I'll leave it here in case anybody else finds it helpful:

You are missing windows' NT dlls. Redownload the C++ redistributable package 2008 and it that doesn't work get 2005 as well

Will see if this works for that person later.
