Title said, I wonder what it was like before having FF. Did everyone have to use c++ in order to code? What?

There was MCM, and before that there was sprmaker, notepad and airedit and some sndmaker (or something like that, haven't checked the utilities in a while)

You don't have to use C++ to code mugen characters, not even before FF.
Before FF there were other similar tools that weren't really stable and tended to corrupt the characters. And before these tools you had to use notepad to create the characters, which you can still use nowadays

The dos command line tools were super easy once you understood how they worked and knew how to copy-paste. The only downside is that it's easy to get lost in big text files if you don't also have a tool to use as a viewer (like MCM). They were hard to get used to, though, but once you got the hang of it, it was smooth sailing.
Too bad they don't work anymore unless you kept a computer with Windows XP. Or is there a way to still make them work ?
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.
