Mugen freezes, with a twist

I'm running a standard installation of Winmugen on XP using the EVE Screenpack. Randomly (it can be anywhere from the character select screen up to the middle of arcade mode), Mugen will freeze. However, the program is responding fine: the music plays continuously, and you can close the window without having to force-quit. All on-screen action just freezes. This is not a character issue since sometimes it does this on the menus. Does anyone have a solution?

have you cheked the log file for any errors?, any way maybe is your hardware, try in the mugen.cfg messing with the different options to reduce resource consumption

Where's the log file located?

And I don't think it's a resource issue, it doesn't lag at all...

Scratch that, found the log and checked it. Last entry was when the fight started, so it doesn't detect the crash.

Please help me. Mugen is almost unplayable because of how often it freezes.

Me too. Please help. I already tried re-downloading no limit winmugen patch from Rouhei and nothing happened. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean? The mugenw file? I already checked it and no errors found.
