Mugen Most Wanted

This is a interactive mugen segment that brings together the mugen community by posting video responses to the video of the Most Wanted Character of the week.

When I posts the Most Wanted Character, your goal is to download the character from the provided Author link and follow the objectives provided in the video. Once you are done just post the video as a response. When there are 12 or more video responses, the next Most Target will be provided for you to take on.

Mugen Most Wanted: Mission #1

i actually find this concept kind of interesting except for the part in which you let people use whatever character they want. the character people use in these challenges should be the same. a level playing field, a better display of skill.

I kinda agree with Titiln, but wouldn't be as restrictive.
You could just limit it to "non cheap chars", as some said, but this may be too vague. Limiting it to a certain set of chars, or chars by certains authors could do the trick (defeat Wonderwoman with a character by POTS, defeat Infinite Zangief then R.Mika with a char by infinite or Warusaki3, something along these lines).

Also, will you be limiting these to "defeat X or Y", or will you be extending the challenges to "with a perfect in one round", "kill with a super", "kill with a counter move", "finish with a fatality of any sorts", etc. ?

Yea, choosing the Reu Evil duo(and Evil Dan) as targets was a poor idea. I just had to look at the responses to confirm, pretty much everyone had to use an equally broken character to stand a chance.

Send me a PM if you decide to add me on PSN, so I don't mistake you for a random Friend whore.

Its a really cool concept in my opinion. However I think "Mugen Most Wanted Series" isn't the best choice in names.

I always dreamed with a program that lets you pre-set some matches in mugen.
(Something like the 51 events in Smash brothers)

I think this is the closest thing im going to get XD

I like the idea and even I can join it with some of my "team" (various of them made my me) to make the challengers

I've a question: it's necessary to start with the order or I can make any challenges?? I mean, I'm interested to make Mission 2 (Rainbow Cyclone team) to start with this

Must be your mugen team? This is from people who have a set number of characters they consider a "team" many people don't.

Would you care to suggest some guidelines of what actually constitutes a team? This would also allow a certain amount of vetting of characters. If someone includes oni miko zero or A bomb as "team members" they're not into the spirit of things.

Great idea, not so great execution.

The character selection you have picked is quite frankly, horrible.  Wonder Woman is safe on everything with atrociously coded super armor and bad hitbox design.  Zangief isn't really badly coded so I won't get into him.  The evil shotos are just a complete, terrible mess with retarded super to super chaining, safe everything, move design that makes no sense (denjin hadouken that you can't punish due to electric aura?  Ken with Gen's slide super except it combos OTG and crosses up?)  I commend your idea of community spirit, but these characters are no challenge to fight at all, all one needs to do is exploit their poorly coded rush down AI and you will win.

I achieved this doing absolutely nothing but Cerberus combo into Satellite.  These characters have no clue how to deal with aggressive approached and offensive pressure, they just have the typical "rain down on you with mashy chain combos that are safe on block" approach that 90% of cheap Mugen AI does.  I like your idea, I really do.  I think it's a great way to encourage a little competition in a fighting game engine without online play.  It's just that I think you need to pick better characters for people to fight instead of blatantly cheap, easy to exploit nonsense.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, just throw me some suggestions because they are most definitely welcomed. This is trial and error for me, just trying to see what works and what doesn't. Mugen isn't online so having something fun and a little interactive is what I am aiming for. I noticed some people said they don't have a team so don't worry its no big deal just have fun with it. Remember to attach the video of the mission you are doing as a response to the selected mission, I need a total of 16 or more for the Dark Hadou team so I can post the next target.

There's always the POTS patched versions. They remove some cheapness and add scaleable AI, winquotes, general 1.0 stuff.

For some reason this idea reminds me of the Mugen Event Mode that used to be on Judgespear's forums (which were supposed to be based on Smash Bros Melee & Brawl's Event Mode). I have to agree with the idea, it's a hell of a lot better than the AI vs AI match vids that plague youtube by a mile at least.

i actually find this concept kind of interesting except for the part in which you let people use whatever character they want. the character people use in these challenges should be the same. a level playing field, a better display of skill.

Gonna have to agree with Titiln here. If a character with a certain gameplay style completely outclasses another (like say player controlled MvC/2, GG or MB gameplay versus AI with something like SSF2T gameplay) then thats too big of an advantage and doesn't require as much skill, and you're basically reinventing the boring AI vs AI team tournament vids I mentioned earlier.

However, forcing people to use a specific character in the matches forces them to adapt to the situation and learn, especially if its a character or gameplay that they're not entirely familiar with.

You limit yourself so badly when you try to avoid variables. When you get over your fear of the "complexity" of variables, you will find yourself in a better place: A beautiful world where coding is actually fun.
